Job Summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure Products Group (IPG) is seeking a Staff Lease Accountant who is looking to develop their skillset while gaining exposure to a variety of corporate accounting and finance areas. This role will report to the Accounting Manager. The Staff Accountant's primary role will be ensuring the correct accounting for new and existing leases under ASC 842 as well as supporting the fixed assets and corporate general accounting team cross functionally. This is a vital role with future opportunities for career progression as the business grows. The candidate should be highly motivated, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and results-driven. Prior experience in general accounting, journal entries, variance analysis, and ERP systems is a plus.

Job Location

  • This is a hybrid role based out of our office in Sandy Springs, GA. Successful candidate will be required to be in the office 3 - 5 days per week.


Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure the proper accounting and recording of lease activity (including new real estate leases, equipment leases, lease modifications, renewals, acquired leases, etc.) in CoStar (cloud-based lease platform/subledger) in accordance with ASC 842.
  • Prepare the monthly base/fixed rent payments schedule via Costar.
  • Cross train with the Fixed Asset accounting team to support fixed asset operations as needed.
  • Assist with monthly close process, prepare month-end journal entries, GL reconciliations of assigned accounts.
  • Prepare internal financial reporting deliverables, including roll forwards and flux analyses.
  • Work with other teams, such as Operations, Procurement, and Real Estate to ensure real estate and equipment portfolios are documented and processed accurately.
  • Adhere to prescribed controls in performance of assigned processes to maintain accuracy and reliability of financial information.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and preparation of annual budgets.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with at least 1+ years of relevant experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate highly desirable.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills (X-Lookup, Pivot Tables, SumIf, Index (Match) including ability to interpret formulas and modify or troubleshoot issues.
  • Strong communicator with ability to communicate complex issues and topics in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize competing tasks. Teamwork skills and positive attitude
  • SAP ERP, Oracle EPM Consolidation tool (or similar) experience a plus
  • High personal standards and professional ethics with a commitment to excellence.
