Job Summary

The Senior Network Engineer leads the design, architecture, and optimization of enterprise network solutions. This role functions as a technical authority across LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, cloud, and security platforms. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise with Cisco and Palo Alto technologies, advanced routing and security practices, cloud networking architecture, and strong automation skills. This position drives strategy, leads complex deployments, and mentors junior engineers.

  • This role will work hybrid out of our office in the Sandy Springs, GA area.


Job Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and deploy secure, scalable LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and wireless solutions across distributed enterprise environments.
  • Lead initiatives involving Cisco Catalyst & Nexus switching, Cisco ACI, Palo Alto firewalls, and multi-site SD-WAN architectures.
  • Design, implement, and optimize cloud network connectivity across AWS and/or Azure, including hybrid architectures.
  • Serve as final-tier escalation for complex or high-impact network issues, ensuring rapid resolution.
  • Perform performance tuning, hardening, HA design, and network reliability improvements.
  • Create detailed network diagrams, baselines, standards, and operating procedures.
  • Develop and implement automation strategies using Ansible and Python.
  • Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and operations teams to enhance network posture and enforce cross-platform security controls.
  • Lead lifecycle refreshes, platform.migrations, and modernization initiatives.
  • Mentor Network Engineers and contribute to technical roadmap planning.
  • Design, deploy and support secure LAN, WAN, SD-WAN and Wireless solutions across multiple locations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, business administration or related field is required
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience supporting and designing enterprise network environments.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and maintaining connectivity into AWS and/or Azure.
  • Cisco CCNP or higher (or equivalent experience).
  • Palo Alto PCNSE or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced expertise with Cisco ACI, Catalyst, Nexus switching, BGP/OSPF routing design, Meraki wireless, Palo Alto NGFW, and SD-WAN platforms (VeloCloud and Palo Alto preferred).
  • Strong scripting and automation experience with Python and Ansible.
  • Experience with IT/OT integration, industrial control systems (ICS), or MES platforms.
  • Strong skills in relationship building among business stakeholders & colleagues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to adapt communication and key messages to the
    audience.
  • Excellent documentation skills are required, including requirements, functional design or configuration, test scripts, and process flows.
  • Thorough understanding of IT processes
  • General understanding of project management
  • Insightful and analytical contributor who provides valuable observations.
  • Problem solver with the ability to break down complex situations and provide solutions.
  • Proactive contributor who can work in a fast-paced, growing, and dynamic environment.
  • Advanced analytical, diagnostic, and technical skills.
