Job Summary

GardenCore, previously Oldcastle Lawn & Garden, is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Senior Analyst to join the GardenCore Retail organization. This role will serve as a key insights partner to the VP, Sales, providing enterprise‑level analytics that drive customer performance, improve retail execution, and strengthen relationships with Home Depot, Lowe's, and other major retail partners.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and technical skills-particularly in Tableau, Excel, and retail data platforms-paired with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations. This position requires someone who is detail‑oriented, curious, and capable of managing the full reporting lifecycle: design, development, automation, and insight generation.

Job Location

This position will be based out of the office in Atlanta, GA. The position will require occasional travel, as needed, up to 20% of the time.

Job Responsibilities

  • Retail Performance Analytics & Insights
    • Analyze POS, inventory, promotional, and category performance across key retail partners to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
    • Solve for SKU/Site/P.O. prioritization and fulfillment challenges
    • Design, build, and maintain dashboards (Power BI/Tableau) that track sales performance, inventory health, turns, forecast accuracy, promo effectiveness, and retail execution KPIs.
    • Leverage advanced Excel functions to manage and analyze large datasets efficiently.
    • Translate complex data into clear insights and storylines used in leadership updates, customer meetings, and field execution guidance.

    Customer & Merchant Support
    • Support line reviews, pricing analysis, business planning, and category conversations with data‑driven insights.
    • Prepare merchant‑ready reporting that improves communication with Home Depot, Lowe's, and other key accounts.
    • Provide analytics that elevate the customer experience and strengthen partnership credibility.

    Field Sales, Merchandising & Execution Support
    • Partner with field sales and merchandising teams to monitor in‑store availability, display compliance, seasonal execution, and sell‑through performance.
    • Use store‑level analytics to highlight execution gaps and guide corrective actions.
    • Build tools and scorecards that increase visibility to priority stores, opportunities, and field performance metrics.

    Sales Operations, Forecasting & Business Planning
    • Support forecasting and planning through POS trend analysis, run‑rate modeling, and seasonality insights.
    • Conduct pricing, promotion, and margin‑mix analysis to support execution and commercial strategy.
    • Provide pre‑ and post‑season performance reporting to inform future planning cycles.

    Data Stewardship, BI Development & Continuous Improvement
    • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting platforms and business systems.
    • Automate recurring reporting to improve organizational efficiency and reduce manual work.
    • Partner with IT, BI, and cross‑functional teams to enhance data accessibility and self‑service reporting.
    • Identify workflow inefficiencies and propose process improvements to strengthen operational effectiveness.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in retail analytics, category analytics, business intelligence, or CPG‑focused insights.
  • Strong proficiency in Tableau or Power BI, plus advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups; VBA a plus).
  • Experience working with retailer data (Home Depot, Lowe's, or comparable major retailers).
  • Demonstrated ability to turn data into business insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly to non‑technical audiences.
  • Detail‑oriented with excellent problem‑solving ability.
  • Willing to travel, as needed, up to 20% of the time.
  • Experience in home improvement, seasonal goods, or consumer durables is a plus.
  • Background supporting field sales or merchandising teams is a plus.
  • Familiarity with forecasting, supply chain analytics, or CRM/sales operations tools is a plus.
  • Experience managing or automating BI/analytical workflows is a plus.
