Job Summary

The National Solutions business unit is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the Water Solutions segment. This Atlanta-based role is critical to ensuring accurate financial information, strong internal controls, and timely completion of monthly close activities. The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager - Water Solutions and will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. This position requires a self-starter who is motivated to implement best practices and create efficiencies. Prior experience should equip them with the ability to analyze financial information and perform the following duties in accordance with US GAAP.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor and/or record entries with focus on coding accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts, resolve reconciliation issues, and ensure balances are explainable with the appropriate back-up documentation.
  • Execute month-end financial close process by performing assigned journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis in adherence to deadlines and with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Prepare and distribute routine and ad-hoc financial analysis related to margin, labor and overhead.
  • Assist in the preparation of (or coordination across the business to deliver) internal & external auditors requests to support the annual and interim external reporting cycle and operational review.
  • Partner across the Water Solutions business to ensure internal controls are adhered to so that financial statements are fairly and accurately presented.
  • Collaborate with shared services and corporate accounting teams to ensure transparency, alignment, and accuracy of centralized activities impacting Water Solutions.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies.
  • Continuously optimize accounting processes and procedures for efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Support management during the forecasting and annual budget processes.
  • Participate in accounting-related projects, system enhancements, and integration activities as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 3-5+ years of public accounting experience or general accounting experience in a large company.
  • Proficiency with ERPs (SAP, NetSuite or similar) and MS Excel required.
  • Proficiency with business intelligence tools and Oracle EPM (or similar) a plus
  • Exposure to cost and/or inventory accounting within a manufacturing environment a plus
  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • Ability to self-motivate and establish personal deadlines
  • Ability to process technical accounting concepts and determine their applicability to Oldcastle Infrastructure and its business units
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage a variety of audiences
  • Ability to build strong relationships within team and other key stakeholders
  • Ability to quickly grasp and solve complex problems, manage change in a fluid environment, prioritize multiple competing projects and focus resources on those priorities
  • Solid understanding of technology and systems; ability to identify methods to leverage technology with a focus on automation, control, compliance and efficiency
