Job Summary

This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who is looking to develop his/her skillset while gaining exposure to a variety of corporate accounting and finance areas. The Senior Accountant's primary role will be the review and management of general ledger accounts with a focus on capital expenditures, prepaids, and departmental reporting. This is a vital role with future opportunities for career progression as the business grows. The candidate should be highly motivated, detail-oriented, trustworthy, results-driven, and have experience in general accounting, journal entries, variance analysis, and ERP systems.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with the monthly close process, balance sheet reconciliations, GL review for coding accuracy, as well as internal and external audit requests and ad hoc reporting. Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for manager review and approval in alignment with corporate finance deadlines
  • Maintain project-by-project listing of capital expenditures, track spend to budget, review expenditures to ensure support and classification are in line with accounting standards and company guidance, and present ad hoc reporting to budget owners
  • Provide proper coding for expenditures, analysis of performance compared to budget, and ad hoc reporting to budget owners.
  • Assist the period-end close process by ensuring the accurate and timely completion of corporate accounting/finance entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Preparation of reporting for parent company and disclosures
  • Recommend and lead improvements to current processes
  • Maintain a great working relationship within our corporate finance team and with the teams in the divisions and departments
  • Support ad hoc financial information requests, analyses, and other special projects, as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • 2+ years related work experience in Accounting or Finance (public or private)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • ERP and general ledger accounting experience
  • Assisted with month end close activities
  • Solid values and high standards of ethics, integrity, and trust
  • Action-oriented and purposeful
  • Ability to meet deadlines & an initiative-taker
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to network and build relationships with individuals of various experience and corporate levels both within and outside of the company
  • Ability to take directions, ask questions, and receive feedback
