Purpose of the role

The SAP Systems Manager will proactively oversee, manage, and optimise the performance of business systems operating within Leviat's SAP landscape. You will work closely with application management teams, product owners, project managers, technology partners and key business stakeholders to ensure all SAP‑related platforms meet business needs, align with enterprise architecture, and adhere to compliance and risk standards.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring system stability, business continuity, and ongoing platform improvement across a global environment.

SAP Systems Ownership & Performance

• Own and manage the end-to-end SAP system landscape to ensure high availability, stability, performance, across all environments.

• Oversee operational performance of application management services for SAP Basis and functional support ensuring services consistently meet business expectations

• Lead and coordinate SAP Product Owners to support, evolve and enhance SAP applications, including but not limited to, S4 HANA, BTP, C4C, CPI and OpenText VIM.

• Act as the technical gatekeeper to safeguard systems during change, including patches, updates, integrations, releases and upgrades.

Change Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyse the impact of business initiatives and change requests related to SAP platforms.
  • Collaborate with Country Managers, Product Owners, Key Users and service partners to scope, document and approve proposed changes.
  • Manage change requests end‑to‑end, ensuring alignment with the Design Authority Board and adherence to documentation and development standards.
  • Ensure enhancements and modifications comply with cyber security standards, internal controls and enterprise architecture guidelines.

Documentation & Governance

  • Maintain high‑quality enterprise documentation across architecture, solution blueprints, process flows, technical specifications, training materials and knowledge repositories.
  • Ensure all documents are up to date, accurate and aligned with audit and compliance frameworks.

Key functional competencies and relevant experience:

Technical Expertise
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP applications, technologies, and current industry trends.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
  • Proven background in SAP Basis and system administration.
  • Solid understanding of SAP security, authorisation concepts and wider information security principles.
  • Familiarity with SAP change management processes and monitoring tools.
Leadership & Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to lead, support and motivate a team of technically skilled colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills at all organisational levels.
  • Persistence and the ability to build strong working relationships across teams and geographies.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment with competing priorities.

Education & Experience
  • Degree‑level education or equivalent experience supporting business technology solutions.
  • Demonstrable track record managing complex SAP environments.
