Position Overview

Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000/year DOE

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Maintain existing customers and work to establish add-on business.
  • Help solve customer and team member problems pertaining to your sales purview.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge base of entire product line.
  • Sales administration; Tracking and logging calls, sales numbers, etc. into Salesforce daily.
  • Provide industry-leading customer service.
  • Assist the Sales Manager in developing strategy and tactics that ensure the attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
  • Establish new business opportunities with potential customers through cold calling, telemarketing, provided leads, networking and client/associate referrals.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis to include demand forecasting, competitor capabilities, customer profiles and the next best alternatives. Know your competitor's capabilities.
  • Bid all appropriate jobs within assigned marketing area in a timely manner. Participate in the development of bid strategy for each job.
  • Make specific recommendations regarding advertising, promotions, and public relations as they affect sales.
  • Partner with other departments (Quality Control, Production Operations, Transportation, Dispatch, etc.) to ensure every account receives appropriate level of customer service.
  • Communicate with others as necessary to manage and coordinate sales to customers who overlap geographic boundaries.
  • Actively participate in industry-related associations (ABC, AGC, Homebuilder Associations) to develop and maintain key business relationships.
  • Understand your customer's business and problems. Find innovative ways to aid their business.
  • Report all unsafe conditions or behaviors on the job or yard. Take appropriate action to stop unsafe behavior.
  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain strong and effective relationships with customers - both internal and external.
  • 1 - 3 years' experience in one or more of the following areas: sales or sales related; providing mid-level customer support to a wide range of customer inquiries.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Basic algebra skills.
  • Basic ability to use PC Programs & Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance and punctuality.
  • Must pass pre-employment controlled substance testing.
  • Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience in construction or related industries and/or working product knowledge or general understanding of aggregates, concrete or asphalt.
