Ready-Mix Plant Maintenance Mechanic

Position Overview
This is a skilled position which helps to support the daily operations of our concrete production facilities. Role is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plant equipment to ensure continuous, efficient, and safe production.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on ready mix plant equipment, including mixers, conveyors, batch systems, and related components.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and implement timely repairs.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify wear, damage, or safety concerns.
- Maintain and repair engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machinery.
- Ensure all equipment operates efficiently to minimize downtime and production disruption.
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA/MSHA regulations while performing maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair logs, and reporting documentation.
- Collaborate with plant operators, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate repairs and maintenance activities.
- Assist with plant upgrades, installations, and modifications as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Work Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
- Must be able to work weekends
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
- Pass a pre-employment "Fit for Work" physical.
- Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
- Report to work at the designated start time.
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
- Be able to work overtime when required.
- Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
- Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA.
- Be at least age 18 years of age due to nature of working environment.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in concrete, construction materials, or heavy equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and reporting systems.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. CDL a plus.
Qualifications
