Job Summary

The Quality Control (QC) Technician is responsible for ensuring that all precast concrete products meet company and industry standards for quality and compliance. The QC Technician must be detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to ensuring product quality and compliance with industry standards. This hands-on role involves inspecting raw materials, monitoring production processes, performing dimensional and visual checks, documenting results to maintain consistent product quality, and other operational tasks as required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Inspection & Testing
    • Perform daily inspections of precast concrete products for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and structural integrity
    • Conduct slump tests, air content tests, and compressive strength tests on concrete samples
    • Verify reinforcement placement, embedment locations, and curing processes
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and any non-conformance issues
    • Prepare and submit quality reports to the QC Manager
  • Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to project specifications, industry standards, and company quality procedures
    • Assist in internal audits and support corrective actions for non-conforming products
  • Communication
    • Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues promptly
    • Provide feedback and recommendations for process improvements


Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in concrete or construction preferred
  • Knowledge of precast concrete manufacturing processes and quality standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Dependability and punctuality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs in a manufacturing environment
  • Comfortable working in outdoor and indoor conditions
  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician certification (or ability to earn within 90 days)
  • ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification
  • Applicable DOT certifications
