We are looking for a motivated and experienced Project Manager / Engineer to join our team in Dumfries. This is an exciting opportunity to lead engineering projects within the wastewater sector, managing installation and refurbishment works from concept through to completion while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
What You'll Be Doing

As Project Manager / Engineer, you will:

  • Manage engineering projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from planning and initiation through to delivery and close-out.
  • Coordinate installation, refurbishment and repair projects across customer sites.
  • Lead and support engineering teams, ensuring safe and efficient project delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, delivering exceptional service and support.
  • Conduct site visits, surveys and inspections to support project planning and quotation preparation.
  • Prepare cost estimates, quotations and project solutions that maximise value and profitability.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including profit and loss accountability.
  • Produce project documentation, reports and programme plans.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
  • Undertake risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Support business development by providing consultative, solution-led approaches to customers.
About You

We're looking for someone who:
  • Holds a Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, or has significant relevant industry experience.
  • Has proven experience managing engineering or industrial projects.
  • Has experience within the water or environmental sector.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of project planning, delivery and cost control.
  • Has experience working with mechanical and electrical installation, commissioning and maintenance activities.
  • Is customer-focused with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Is commercially aware and able to balance performance, quality and profitability.
  • Holds SMSTS certification and has knowledge of NEC3 contracts.
  • Thrives in a hands-on, site-based environment and is committed to maintaining high safety standards.
