POSITION : PRODUCTION PLANNER- BUYER
We are currently looking for a team player to join our procurement department. A dynamic person who enjoys taking on challenges and performing a variety of tasks.
DESCRIPTION:
Working closely with the existing team, this person will coordinate the procurement activities for raw materials and resale items, while ensuring compliance with company standards, policies, and values. He/She organizes the production of goods or machine parts to match customer orders as closely as possible with factory production. In addition, he/she will participate in creating the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) based on customer orders, sales forecasts, and maintaining finished goods inventory levels. The person will assume the following tasks jointly with other team members. Tasks will be defined in more detail upon onboarding.

- Participate in creating the production plan (MPS) according to sales forecasts and plant capacity;
- Assist in developing and implementing production plans based on sales forecasts and stock levels;
- Ensure products are manufactured on time and meet quality standards;
- Calculate safety stock and reorder points based on forecasts, orders, and inventory strategy;
- Coordinate with other departments (sales, logistics, etc.) to ensure timely production and delivery;
- Manage daily inventory levels by monitoring key stock performance indicators such as turnover and stock levels to avoid shortages or excess;
- After reviewing inventory, establish the production schedule based on machine, raw material, and operator availability, as well as manufacturing constraints and processes, with support from the planning and production managers;
- Ensure raw material supply considering receiving, storage, and production capacities (internal & off-site). Procurement involves international suppliers;
- Proactively report material availability issues and help prepare recovery plans to minimize impact;
- Manage exceptions (urgent orders, stockouts);
- Participate in introducing new products into production;
- Place and track purchase orders in the system;
- Evaluate current suppliers by setting performance indicators and identifying corrective actions if needed;
- Participate in negotiating agreements with suppliers of raw materials and packaging for current and future products;
- Represent the company alone or jointly during meetings with current/future suppliers and manage issues encountered;
- Work with production and quality teams to ensure all goods or services acquired meet requirements;
- Plan transfers of goods between different manufacturing and storage sites as needed in collaboration with the logistics team;
- Prepare reports on inventory or production data as requested by the supply chain manager.
Other Tasks:
- Work with management to periodically review ERP system parameters to optimize usage;
- Participate in continuous improvement projects;
- Purchase plant supplies;
- Perform any other related tasks.
Requirements:
- DEC or Bachelor's degree in administrative/business management or supply chain certification (CSCP) or production and inventory management (CPIM) or procurement certification from ACGA;
- 5 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment;
Knowledge and Skills:
- Bilingual: excellent verbal and written communication in French and English;
- Knowledge of production planning and purchasing;
- Knowledge of ERP systems (H5 Lawson is an asset);
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLookups), Word, and PowerPoint;
- Analytical, structured, and organized mindset;
