National Sales Manager

We are seeking an experienced National Sales Manager to lead our UK sales organisation and drive sustainable commercial growth across our stormwater and wastewater markets.
This is a senior leadership role with national responsibility, offering the opportunity to shape sales strategy, develop high‑performing teams, build long‑term customer partnerships, and make a meaningful impact on the success of the business.
The Role
As National Sales Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a UK‑wide external sales team to achieve annual sales targets and long‑term strategic objectives. You will balance day‑to‑day commercial delivery with strategic planning, market development, and people leadership.
You'll work closely with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams including marketing, operations, and finance to ensure a joined‑up commercial approach that delivers value for customers and the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a nationwide sales team to deliver revenue, margin, and growth targets
- Define and execute national sales strategies across stormwater, wastewater, municipal, infrastructure, residential, and commercial markets
- Build strong, professional relationships with key customers, partners, and industry stakeholders
- Monitor sales performance, pipeline activity, and forecasts, providing clear reporting and insight to senior leadership
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual sales updates and forecasts
- Contribute to a rolling three‑year business plan, including commercial strategy, systems development, and talent planning
- Collaborate with Marketing on product launches, brand consistency, and market positioning
- Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high‑performing sales professionals
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and quality and environmental standards

You are a commercially astute sales leader with a proven track record of leading national or regional sales teams and delivering results in complex, technical, or industrial markets.
You'll bring:
- Significant experience managing and developing commercial sales teams
- Strong understanding of capital equipment sales and specification‑led markets
- Demonstrated ability to build and execute sales strategies aligned to business goals
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills
- Commercial and financial awareness, with strong forecasting and reporting capability
- A proactive, self‑motivated approach with the resilience to lead through change
- Experience using CRM systems and sales performance tools
- A BSc (or equivalent) in Sales, Business Administration, or a relevant discipline
Experience within stormwater, wastewater, infrastructure, or adjacent industrial sectors is highly advantageous.
