Job Summary:
The Master Data Management (MDM) Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing master data operations to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and governance of enterprise data across financial and operational systems. This role manages a team of MDM Analysts, drives adherence to data standards and controls, and partners with cross‑functional stakeholders to support efficient business operations, regulatory compliance, and reliable financial and operational reporting. The MDM Supervisor plays a key role in optimizing data processes, enhancing data quality, and enabling consistent, well‑governed master data across the organization.
What Shared Services Does:
A Shared Services Center (SSC) centralizes essential business processes, creating streamlined operations, cost efficiencies, and consistent quality. By consolidating areas such as finance, procurement, payroll, and reporting, SSC fosters innovation, supports strategic goals, and enhances organizational effectiveness. SSC's primary functions include:
- O2C (Order-to-Cash): Ensures smooth revenue processes from customer order to payment.
- R2R (Record-to-Report): Provides accurate financial reporting and robust accounting processes.
- P2P (Procure-to-Pay): Ensures timely payments to vendors and strengthens supplier relationships.
- Center of Excellence: Champions innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Supervision
- Oversee daily Master Data Management activities across key data domains, including customer, vendor, material, general ledger (GL), cost center, and asset management.
- Assign and monitor tasks to ensure they are completed on time according to service level agreements (SLAs).
- Address escalations related to data requests or business conflicts and ensure coverage during critical reporting periods, such as month-end, quarter-end, and year-end..
Data Governance & Compliance
- Enforce master data governance policies, standards, and approval workflows.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and audit standards.
- Review and approve sensitive or high‑risk master data changes.
- Maintain documentation, audit evidence, and process controls related to master data activities.
Data Quality & Risk Management
- Ensure that master data is accurate, complete, and consistent across all systems.
- Identify the root causes of data quality issues and collaborate with the MDM manager to implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Reduce data-related errors that impact financial reporting, invoicing, procurement, and operational processes.
- Work together with Audit, Compliance, and IT teams to support reviews, testing, and remediation efforts.
People Leadership & Development
- Supervise, coach, and develop MDM analysts to ensure high performance and skill development.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback
- Identify training needs and ensure team members are knowledgeable in systems, policies, and controls.
- Promote a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
Process Improvement & Systems Support
- Streamline, standardize, and automate master data processes.
- Support ERP implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
- Maintain and update SOPs and governance documentation.
- Foster continuous improvement and best practices
Reporting & Metrics
- Track, analyze, and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including SLA adherence, cycle times, data quality metrics, and audit findings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related discipline/experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Master Data Management, ERP support, or shared services operations required.
- Prior experience leading or supervising a team required.
- Strong understanding of ERP master data concepts and workflows required.
- Knowledge of internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit requirements required.
- Experience with SAP (including MDG) preferred.
- Experience in a shared services or multi‑entity environment preferred.
- Experience supporting system implementations or integrations preferred.
- Proven people leadership and coaching skills.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
Work Environment:
- Up to 5% travel may be required.
- Normal office working conditions with a quiet noise level.
