About the role:

Our Maintenance Manager will be looking to promote an actively engaged culture striving to continuously improve H&S and promoting a safety first environment within a plant wide, cross shift, Maintenance Team.• To manage a Team of Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineers to deliver both planned and reactive maintenance strategy resulting in optimum mechanical, electrical and automation machine and process uptime using plant metrics to develop and deploy improvement of PPM systems.
• To manage Tool Room to support Plant wide tooling and ad hoc production requirements.
• To manage facility related maintenance, upkeep and repairs ensuring any associated contractors adhere to company policies and procedures.

Key tasks & responsibilities

Through strong leadership, foster an optimal safety and environmental culture within the Maintenance / Toolroom teams, making dynamic risk assessment and risk mitigation embedded within the everyday way of working along with ensuring safe working practices are in place.
• Employment of strict contractor control processes in order to optimise contractor safety in line with company policy.
• Deploy a system of structured shift and handover meetings based around the plant wide SQDCIP systems in order to deploy resources to the most needed parts of the business. This should apply to both Maintenance and Tool Room activities.
• Manage the Maintenance Team to ensure there is the correct amount of cover for multiple demanding production processes ensuring the correct team structure is maintained.
• Bring best practice to implementation and deployment of a plant wide computer maintenance system to deliver optimal MTBB and MTTR through analysis and continuous improvement.
• Maintain stocks off critical spares in order to increase uptime of critical processes.
• Monitor and control engineering spend
• Manage the Tool Room process ensuring that the correct support is given to Operations.
• Responsibility for the safe working condition of facility equipment, building and grounds.
• Recommend and specify new equipment when required and support with CapEx RFA's.

Key compentencies and relevant experience

At least 3 years in a Maintenance Management position, in a medium to large scale manufacturing company with accountability for at least 5 Engineers.
• Engineering qualification HND or higher essential.
• Experience of deployment of modern Total Preventative Maintenance procedures.
• Strong Troubleshooting capabilities, with electro mechanical and automated systems including PLC and control.
• Demonstrable skills with developing and using TPM software.
• Ability to build a credible business case and experience of CapEx development.
• Excellent, written, verbal and presentation skills.
