Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Safely drives building materials equipment within the confines of the yard/plant as directed, obeying all applicable laws and following plant manager/dispatch instructions.
- Properly conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment to ensure safe operational order and detect/report maintenance issues.
- Safely operates loaders and forklifts to transport materials from storage to hoppers.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of product being loaded and delivered.
- Climbs in and out of equipment safely using proper 3-points of contact and complies with the working at heights policy.
- Safely load building materials (block, rock, sand and other materials supplies) for delivery.
- Completes written report of any issues or necessary repairs, and relay to the maintenance team for repairs.
- Detects and reports improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to management.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Understand general machinery maintenance and physical ability to bend, squat and maneuver body to reach, clean and service equipment and conveyors unassisted.
- Works outdoors in heat and uneven surfaces for extended hours at a time.
- Shovels rock, sand, and other materials manually as needed.
- Maintains strict adherence to company policies, safety/OSHA requirements and procedures.
- Possesses a professional attitude while interacting with peers, contractors and general public
- May perform other related duties as required or directed. Must be available to travel and work from other company facilities as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate, understand, and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment.
- Ability to perform manual labor and adjacent job responsibilities as required.
- Must be willing to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays when necessary. Regular and timely attendance is required.
- Must pass pre-employment requirements, drug screen, criminal background check and driving record review.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.
