Key Responsibilities
• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on mobile equipment.

• Complete all required and necessary safety training.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and technical support to shop personnel as directed by the Equipment Manager.
• Assist in coordinating workflow and prioritizing repair schedules.
• Inspect and verify all repairs to ensure proper documentation, safety, and quality standards are met.
• Coordinate with Operations to maintain Company, State, and Federal DOT compliance schedules.
• Perform road tests and respond to road calls as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and work performed.
• Promote and adhere to all safety standards and foster a safety-first culture.
• Assist in training and mentoring less experienced mechanics.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop and work environment.
• Support daily operational needs and communicate effectively with team members and management.
Requirements
• Strong mechanical aptitude and skill in operation of tools and equipment.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to assist in team coordination.
• Ability to perform heavy manual tasks in varying weather conditions.
• Valid Florida Driver's License with less than 6 points; Class B CDL preferred.
• Basic diagnostic computer skills.
• Thorough knowledge of preventative maintenance practices.
• Advanced ability to diagnose and repair: air brake systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
• Ability to diagnose and repair drivetrain components (clutch, transmission, rear end).
• Welding and light fabrication skills.
• Must own the appropriate tools to complete necessary repairs to mobile equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to support and guide others in a lead capacity.
Qualifications
• High School diploma or GED
• Prior experience in a senior or lead mechanic role preferred, and/or 4+ years of maintenance and heavy equipment repair experience
• A/C repair certification preferred
