Skills and Development during Internship:
- Must possess strong problem-solving skills relative to a fast-paced fluid environment with emphasis on striking a balance of delivering excellent customer service while maintaining company safety and efficiency guidelines
- Must be computer proficient and ability to learn multiple levels of software (Command, Trakit, Universal, Microsoft Office, iPhone and Tablet applications
- Must demonstrate a pleasant and accommodating demeanor over the phone and a positive and professional attitude with internal and external customers in a high-volume call setting
- Able to respond to stressful situations, co-workers, and customers in a professional, courteous manner
- Must possess good listening skills and address customer complaints or concerns
- Must be able to learn extensive product line and their different applications
- Attention to Detail is imperative to accurately record delivery & product information into Command Dispatch Systems with ability to negotiate delivery times with customers
- Assist Manager to Schedule, dispatch and control an appropriate level of drivers required to satisfy customer demand while maintaining safety & efficiency goals established by the company
- Must be able to navigate various GPS systems. Needs to be familiar with our local delivery areas and must be able to assist drivers in finding jobsites
- Must be able to determine travel time to jobs and best plant locations to service the job.
- Assist the department to direct a fleet of up to 60+ trucks at one time
- Assist with coordinating next day's delivery schedule and interpret necessary driver/production employee correlating start times and strictly follow and observe the Federal Hours of Service rules and regulations
- Coordinate with plant supervisors to ensure proper storage and distribution of products
- Collaborate with Sales, Warehouse, Purchasing and other departments to optimize processes
- Monitor and report on transportation costs
- Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods
- Ensure shipping documents are properly filed, billed and invoiced
- Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders
- Report on maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, legal regulations and company policies

- Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping
- Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, training and safety records
Other Requirements
- Must be willing to travel to sites when required.
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Strict adherence to Safety requirements and procedures and Company policies and procedures
- Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all Company employees.
Education and Experience
Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and working towards an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Logistics or other industry related degree program.
Language Skills:
Ability to read English language sufficiently to read information contained in specifications, reports, manuals and regulations.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform intermediate mathematical skills, including basic algebra, geometry, and shop math.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

- This position requires an employee to occasionally lift up to 50lbs.
