PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- The Factory Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring production targets are met safely, on time, and within budget. The role focuses on maintaining consistent product quality, efficient use of resources, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage daily plant operations to ensure production output meets required quantity, quality, and delivery timelines
- Plan and optimise production activities based on available resources, and equipment capacity;
- Monitor production performance and address issues such as delays, breakdowns, or quality deviations;
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements, especially in handling heavy equipment and materials;
- Work with maintenance team to ensure equipment is properly maintained and downtime is minimized;
- Oversee the use of consumables and allocation of manpower to reduce wastage and control costs
- Ensure products meet required specifications and quality standards through regular checks and coordination with quality personnel;
- Supervise warehouse and inventory activities, ensuring proper storage and stock rotation (FIFO);
- Maintain proper records for production, inventory, maintenance, and compliance purposes.
- Ensure all required licenses, permits, and statutory requirements are valid and up to date.
- Lead and supervise production staff, ensuring work is carried out according to procedures and company policies.
- Identify manpower needs and support recruitment and training where required;
- Maintain housekeeping standards and 5S across the plant to ensure a safe and organized working environment.
- Report production performance, issues, and improvements to management on a regular basis.
- It is not possible to enumerate all duties associated with this role. The scope includes all factory production responsibilities and may also extend to areas such as maintenance, inventory control, and general plant operations as needed.

KEY FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Ideally 5-8 years of experience in a manufacturing or construction materials environment, with direct involvement in plant operations and minimum 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
- Hands-on experience managing daily production activities, including manpower planning, shift coordination, and output tracking.
- Good working knowledge of construction materials and production processes.
- Familiar with Singapore Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) requirements and able to enforce compliance on the factory.
- Experience working with maintenance teams to manage breakdowns and improve equipment reliability.
- Able to troubleshoot operational issues and implement practical corrective actions.
- Basic competency in MS Office and production reporting tools.
- Regularly present on the factory floor and able to work closely with operators and supervisors.
