Summary:
Reporting to the reporting to the Manager of Logistics and Customer Experience, the Distribution Coordinator plays a key role in supporting day-to-day management of product flows and customer service. The Distribution Coordinator works closely with both the Customer Service team and our freight carriers in order to deliver good service to our customers while optimizing flows to minimize distribution costs.
The Distribution Coordinator also works with the broader Logistics team that is focused on re-inventing the way we do business and how we serve our customers. As part of this team, the Distribution Coordinate plays a key role in supporting optimization of movements across Canada and the US, as well seeking out and implementing new technology and processes and push our business forward.
Having a strategic mindset paired with strong analytical skills are keys to success in this role.
What you'll be contributing:
- Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
- Support the Customer Service team in daily distribution planning activities, and in particular ensure proper balancing of loads between carriers for optimal customer service
- Generate, maintain and report on key metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Maintain freight-related data and tools, process carrier invoices
- Support various shipping and sub-contract activities (bagging and blending facilities)
- Respond to, coordinate and support resolution of various logistics incidents (safety, customer service, quality)
- Coordinate delivery set up for new customer locations (freight rates, site visits, delivery requirements)
- Occasion site visits to various locations as required (customers, terminals, carrier locations)
- Support and participate in multifunctional team initiatives and special studies
- Continuously seek and implement ways to improve performance and improve efficiencies
- Lead any other studies, projects, or assignments as required
- Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
To succeed in this position, you will need:
- Bachelor's/University Degree preferred
- 1-3 years of experience
- Experience in logistics and distribution an asset
- Knowledge and exposure to the building materials industry preferred
- Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
- Proficient in English written, verbal communication, and listening skills

Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Able to lift small objects frequently, weighing up to 20 lbs.
- This position is sedentary in nature but may require periods of standing and walking
Work Environment
- This position is office based and is therefore indoors and climate controlled
- Occasional travel involved

Additional Information:
- Compensation: $65,000 - $72,000
