Position Overview
This is a skilled position requiring the individual to effectively schedule and dispatch material/trucking orders from customers and internal requestors. This position is flexible in helping with general tasks within the dispatch department to include but not limited to; scheduling, CSR, truck dispatching, follow up phone calls, billing activities, and operational direction as needed.
This position is a seasonal opportunity, with employment lasting for a specific period based on business needs.

Wage Range: $18-$22 per hour, dependent upon experience.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Assist drivers in 30/60/90 / Holcim site specific / and other computer-based trainings
- Assist in tracking/updating equipment status on wall board for driver assignment and utilization
- Be the primary point of contact for incoming phone calls during business hours
- Compile driver load count / safety compliance / behavioral factors to determine driver scores
- Track and update equipment status spreadsheet for sharing with the maintenance shop
- Handout and compile daily T.R.A.C.K. sheets for LOB safety reporting requirements
- Verify drivers have required licensing and permitting for daily transportation activities
- Primary contact for drivers PTO requests, safety training, PPE, and daily needs
- Research and ensure that all leased trucking has current/proper insurance in place
- Dispatch report data generation for reporting and documentation
- Assist Dispatcher with duties as required by existing workload
- Assist Freight Settlement Clerk with duties as required by existing workload
- Receive telephone orders from customers.
- Ensure timely and accurate material delivery to assigned job site.
- Maintain communication with current and future customers.
- Maintain dispatch facilities and keep in good working order all necessary equipment.
- Properly follow all company policies and MSHA & OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environmental best practices. Report any problems to the Department Manager, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

Education/Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Knowledge of the aggregate and construction industry is preferred. 2 years' experience in order taking and aggregate dispatch is preferred.
Work Requirements
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is necessary.
- Previous work within the construction/ ready mix industry is preferred.
- Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check will be required.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, percent, land to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have a strong working knowledge of Database software.
