Position Overview

As a Delivery Manager, you are a high-impact senior leader responsible for the end-to-end execution and quality of our Commercial and Construction application portfolio. This portfolio includes many of the critical platforms that run our business such as our Point of Sale systems and Construction and Project Management tools.

In this role you will lead the charge in turning product vision into reality. Partnering with Product Managers and Value Stream Owners, you will help shape the strategy for your applications and then translate product roadmaps into clear, well groomed backlogs, that your teams will execute. You are responsible for ensuring projects and new releases are delivered on time and on budget in a way that delivers the intended business value.

You will lead, mentor, and develop your teams. You are responsible for optimizing workflows, removing roadblocks, and fostering a culture of accountability and performance. You will also modernize and enforce best practices across Agile delivery, project management, solution engineering, testing, change management, and IT support. You will serve as a change agent, constantly refining processes to increase velocity and reliability.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

Strategic Value Delivery

  • Roadmap Execution: Partner with Product Managers and Business Sponsors to translate vision into actionable roadmaps and well-groomed backlogs.
  • Portfolio Oversight: Drive the end-to-end delivery of the Commercial and Construction application portfolio, ensuring projects meet timeline, budget, and quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, serving as a trusted advisor to ensure IT delivery aligns with evolving departmental goals.
  • Customer-Centric Focus: Prioritize customer satisfaction by establishing feedback loops and ensuring application performance directly enhances the end-user experience.
  • Business Alignment: Develop business cases and success metrics (ROI, P&L) to ensure technical outputs deliver tangible business value.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee the full platform lifecycle, balancing new feature development with technical debt reduction and architectural integrity.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Talent Management: Recruit, hire, and mentor high-performing delivery teams; manage resource allocation and capacity planning across multiple streams.
  • People Growth: Foster a culture of accountability and high engagement through active coaching, performance reviews, and career development planning.
  • Resource Optimization: Ensure that the time and skills of resources are utilized effectively.
  • Resource Modeling: Optimize staffing levels using a mix of internal talent and external partners to meet fluctuating project demands.

Operational Excellence & Performance
  • Process Modernization: Act as a change agent to mature Agile practices, improve release predictability, and increase team velocity.
  • Operational Efficiency: Identify and remove delivery roadblocks; advocate for automation over manual processes to enhance reliability.
  • Quality & Governance: Enforce best practices across solution engineering, testing, and change management while ensuring alignment with Enterprise Architecture standards.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of escalation for delivery risks, proactively managing scope, dependencies, and communication across the IT organization.
  • AI & Tool Innovation: Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including AI-driven development tools and advanced automation, to streamline workflows and improve team effectiveness.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience
  • 7+ years with SAP or equivalent ERP implementation in a multi-national company.
  • Multiple complete cycles of systems implementations
  • Computer Science Degree and PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of communicating with Senior level executives
  • Solid understanding of a Shared Service environment for Financial applications


Work Requirements
  • 10 years of Innovation Management, IT Project Management or IT Management
  • 5+ years experience Business Process Change with Financial System impact
  • 5+ years experience with continuous improvement of Information Technology General Controls and or SOX controls.
  • Scrum or Agile qualifications are essential
  • Proven track record of delivering Projects in complex software & infrastructure
  • Exposure to cloud computing and migration to the cloud would be advantageous


Knowledge/Skill Requirements
  • Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills with the ability to actively listen and effectively understand concerns
  • Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to solve problems
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize issues and monitor progress.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Understanding of business processes in a heavy building material and Construction organization.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop alternative solutions to problems and recommend the best solution for the business.
  • Ability to interface and communicate effectively with non-technical personnel, administrative users, staff, as well as professional Information Technology Staff
  • Ability to work in a multi priority environment.
  • Exceptional Stakeholder Engagement and Communications skills, with the ability to explain complex technical challenges in a simple and effective manner
  • Ensure that engagements are managed to completion and customer satisfaction remains high
  • Must be able to build and motivate high performing teams, leveraging their talents to deliver significant projects successfully
  • Strong analytical skills needed to identify technical dependencies, risks, issues and constraints
  • Able to lead and motivate others and guide them to solve problems
  • Work well under time pressures, agility in dealing with changing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Demonstrate senior principles, leading by example in terms of work ethic and professional attitude
  • Team player, who strives to maximize team and departmental performance
