Position Summary:
The Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the ready‑mix plant. This role leads daily plant activities, supports drivers, and ensures concrete is produced to specification while following safety, quality, and environmental standards. The Plant Operator plays a key role in keeping projects moving and communities building.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and oversee daily plant activities in line with company policies and safety standards
- Coordinate with dispatch and drivers to meet production and delivery requirements
- Monitor plant performance, conduct inspections, and report or address maintenance needs
- Order and manage cement, aggregates, admixtures, and specialty products
- Lead plant communication, team meetings, and support positive employee relations
- Maintain records, complete reports, and support safety audits and incident investigations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years of experience in batching, plant operations, or related industrial work
- Valid driver's licence; loader ticket or experience with a front-end loader considered an asset
- Basic computer skills and ability to operate batching systems
- Working knowledge of OH&S regulations and safe work practices
- Flexibility to work various shifts, weekends, and at other locations as required
