PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Tilcon CT, a CRH company. established in 1923, is one of the largest heavy civil construction contractors and material suppliers within the industry, and we are continuing to grow. This role will be located at our New Britain, CT, office and will support all initiates in and around the State of Connecticut. This person will report to the Construction Manager.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Applicant must be a team player willing to help find solutions, detail oriented, able to read and interpret material specifications, able to work in a physical and fast-paced manufacturing / construction environment and comply with all Tilcon Connecticut safety requirements.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Job Duties:

  • Assist the Project Superintendent(s) & Project Manager(s) in planning, coordinating and tracking construction activities including crew and equipment.
  • Manage/Support milling, paving and construction projects to completion
  • Manage/Support pre-bid, estimating and pre-construction phases of milling, paving and construction projects
  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for construction projects by implementing the Company's Health and Safety Plan.
  • Maintain and manage plans, specifications, cost, material estimates, subcontract, and related reports.
  • Project document control and submission
  • Assist Scheduler and Superintendent with two-week lookahead and CPM schedule.
  • Maintain daily log, tracking all payable quantities.
  • Coordinate proper procurement of construction materials ensuring timely delivery and accuracy of purchase orders.
  • Expedite progress payment certificates, final payment certificates and all extra work orders as per contract.
  • Calculate all productivity and material yields per plans, individual should be proficient in math.
  • Arrange and conduct construction field services as required.
  • Estimating takeoff for change order work
  • Support upcoming bids through project takeoff, material/subcontractor procurement, and site visits
  • Employees may also be assigned other work as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
  • Engineering or Construction Management Degree or equivalent in a combination of experience and education.

Other Requirements
  • Valid clear driver's license
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Pass a pre-employment physical.
