Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced AI Product Owner to lead the strategic development and governance of our AI platforms. This role will be instrumental in ensuring value driven AI is scaled throughout CRH International.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
AI Innovation & Value
• Partner with the business to ensure value can be derived from AI
• Identify and scale use-cases across Operating Companies
• Stay abreast of emerging AI technologies and industry best practices
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement across the organisation
• Evaluate and recommend new AI tools and technologies that align with business needs
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning around AI capabilities
Data Integration & Security
• Oversee the design and implementation of secure data integration processes
• Ensure data governance policies are adhered to across all AI platform integrations
• Work with IT security teams to maintain robust user access management systems
• Monitor and audit data flows to ensure compliance and security standards are met
Stakeholder Management
• Act as the primary point of contact for AI platform-related queries and initiatives
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions to drive platform adoption
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Legal, Compliance, and business units
• Present platform updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
Platform Governance & Documentation
• Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation standards for AI platforms
• Develop and implement governance frameworks for data integrations, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
• Create and maintain user access management protocols, including role-based access controls and security policies
• Ensure all platform changes are properly documented and communicated to stakeholders
Product Management
• Define and prioritise the product roadmap for AI platforms in alignment with business objectives
• Gather and analyse user requirements, translating them into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria
• Manage the product backlog, ensuring continuous delivery of value to end users
• Coordinate with technical teams to ensure successful implementation of features and integrations

• Understanding of AI and machine learning concepts and applications
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance requirements
• Familiarity with API integrations and data architecture principles
• Understanding of authentication and authorisation frameworks
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and product management frameworks
• Strong documentation and process mapping skills
Experience / Education
You are/have:
• Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in technology-driven environments
• Demonstrable experience with AI platforms and technologies
• Strong background in documentation management and governance frameworks
• Experience implementing and managing user access controls and data integration processes
• Track record of successfully delivering complex technology projects
Highly Desirable
Industry Experience
• Experience within the building materials, construction, or manufacturing sectors
• Experience with operating in a federated corporate environment
• Knowledge of industry-specific regulatory and compliance requirements
Technical Expertise
• Experience with leading industry AI models (OpenAI, Anthropic)
• Experience with automation platforms
• Knowledge of enterprise AI governance frameworks
• Experience with data analytics and business intelligence tools
• Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Additional Qualifications
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, AI/ML certifications)
• Experience with change management and organisational transformation
• Background in information security or data privacy
