Position Overview
The Aggregate Sales Representative is responsible for delivering pricing growth, exceptional customer service, and market expansion through the sales of crushed limestone, sand, and gravel from the Temple & Tower quarries in SW Indiana. The role emphasizes collaboration across all lines of business (aggregates, asphalt, concrete and transportation), exceptional communication, and responsiveness to the customer base. The representative will prioritize face-to-face customer interaction to develop and keep strong relationships with customers as well as work closely with production, sales, and marketing teams in adjacent territories. Prospecting for new business, developing existing business and logging of all sales activity and market intelligence in Salesforce is a key expectation. Monthly forecasting and participation in sales meetings are key aspects of the role.
Key Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Develop and manage a portfolio of aggregate accounts within the assigned territory, including private contractors, municipalities, commercial businesses, public agencies, and other end users.
• Prospect for new business, qualify opportunities, and convert leads into long-term customer relationships that support profitable market growth.
• Build a thorough understanding of each customer's operations, requirements, decision drivers, and broader market dynamics, including influences beyond the immediate territory.
• Identify and deliver solutions aligned with the full range of products, services, and capabilities available across the Mulzer Family of Companies and CRH.
• Prepare and present professional sales presentations, quotations, and proposals that clearly communicate customer value and support successful conversion.
• Develop and execute pricing strategies under the direction of the Director of Sales; negotiate pricing and commercial terms to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes consistent with company objectives.
• Maintain complete, timely, and accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, leads, quotations, opportunities, and market intelligence in Salesforce.
• Manage the sales pipeline and regularly report forecasts, backlogs, opportunity status, and changing market conditions to support business planning.
• Provide responsive, customer-focused service by promptly following up on inquiries, leads, quotations, and concerns while identifying opportunities to improve the customer experience.
• Collaborate with operations, production, transportation, customer service, and commercial counterparts across territories and lines of business to ensure reliable execution and a seamless customer experience.
• Monitor and communicate relevant market trends, macroeconomic indicators, competitor activity, industry developments, and customer dynamics that may affect pricing, demand, or commercial strategy.
• Participate actively in sales meetings, cross-functional discussions, customer events, and local market-development activities to strengthen alignment and expand relationships.
• Promote safety, regulatory compliance, ethical conduct, and sustainability in all customer interactions and commercial activities.
Other Responsibilities:
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and active participation in company-sponsored safety initiatives.

Qualifications
• Experience in field sales or territory management, preferably in building materials or construction-related industries.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce or similar CRM tools is a plus, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Willingness to travel overnight when needed to support sales activities.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
