Job Summary
The Accounting Manager oversees the monthly close, reporting and forecasting for Corporate and CRO functions. This role has direct interaction with the Senior Leadership and budget owners and is a high-visibility role. Executive presence and leadership is a necessity. A continuous improvement mindset is a must as this leadership role will be expected to optimize month-end accounting processes. A successful candidate for this role is a hands-on immediate team player that is flexible, adaptable and passionate about high-performing and collaborative teams.
Job Location
This is a hybrid opportunity based at our corporate office in Atlanta, GA.
Job Responsibilities
- Monthly Close
- Ensure Corporate Accounting operations are accurate and complete, including monthly reconciliation and supporting schedules and activity such as debt Statement, intercompany processing, allocations and capex reporting.
- Oversee the p reparation of monthly actual vs. budget.
- Manage rolling forecast projections revised weekly, monthly & quarterly.
- Annual Budget
- Work with budget owners on annual budget targets and loading into the budgeting tool, including budget YOY and comparisons to prior year reporting and analysis.
- Lease Accounting for the Operating Companies
- Support lease administration of +1,700 leases across company. This would include monthly depreciation, new, terminated, modification journal entries are appropriately recorded, and monthly reporting is communicated to operating companies.
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise the work of all direct reports to ensure effective and efficient departmental functions.
- Serve as resource, primary advisor, and mentor for all direct reports.
- Provide a goal-oriented work environment with clear and concise work procedures and productivity standards.
- Project Based Work
- Help with implementing BlackLine for monthly reconciliations
- Provide ad hoc financial information ensuring these requests are fulfilled timely & accurately.
- Business Partner
- Collaborate with Reporting team for the accuracy of financial submissions to parent company for regulatory reporting . This role would be a liaison between Reporting and Operating Companies.
- Partner with leaders in other departments such as FP&A, Enterprise Business Solutions (Shared Services), parent company CRH and sister-CRH companies.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Strong understanding of financial processes & statements
- CPA preferred
- Public accounting experience preferred
- People management experience preferred
- Experience in M3, d/EPM, EPM and HFM and related systems and processes, App studio (new version of Crystal) a plus
- Experience with BlackLine a plus
- Experience with Lease Accounting (CoStar specifically a plus)
