Accountant-Concrete- Belmont, NH

What Will you do:
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results for the concrete line of business, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with corporate reporting standards
- Perform detailed variance analyses (price, volume, mix, and absorption) to identify underlying business drivers and operational inefficiencies
- Translate complex financial data into actionable insights and present findings to senior leadership with clear recommendations
- Oversee and continuously improve job costing methodologies, ensuring accurate allocation of materials, labor, equipment, and overhead
- Analyze contribution margins across jobs and customers, identifying opportunities to improve pricing strategies and cost recovery
- Support capital expenditure planning and ROI analysis for plant upgrades, fleet investments, and process improvements
- Ensure proper accounting treatment of inventory (raw materials, WIP, finished goods) with a focus on standard costing, variances, and obsolescence
- Research and apply relevant accounting guidance to ensure compliance with GAAP (or applicable standards)
- Drive process standardization and automation initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial operations

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting
- 1-3 years of accounting experience in a corporate, construction, or manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of GAAP and accrual-basis accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
- Experience with ERP systems (Viewpoint, Sage, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail; ability to meet recurring deadlines with accuracy
Preferred
- Experience in construction, concrete, or materials industries
- Familiarity with multi-state sales & use tax filing (Avalara, CCH, or manual)
- Progress toward or completion of CPA or CMA certification
- Experience with Viewpoint Vista, Command Alkon, or Odoo ERP
