Position Summary:

The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for providing maintenance and repairs to the Dufferin Concrete & Ontario Redimix fleet of vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections, diagnosis, & repair ready-mix trucks through preventative & scheduled maintenance.
  • Perform removal, rework and installation of various engine and chassis components.
  • Use diagnostic technology to identify breakdowns.
  • Order required parts and maintaining parts inventory.
  • Document repairs on work orders and complete inspections sheets as required.
  • Communicate with operations and supervisory staff on availability of equipment.
  • Prioritize jobs and work safely on all equipment.
  • Follow shop procedures and company policies relating to use of shop and Occupational Health & Safety regulations.


Job Requirements:

  • Valid 310T Truck & Coach license or a registered training agreement.
  • Valid class 'G' Driver's License.
  • Sound working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic pumps/motors, and air brake systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a safety-first approach.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel to local sites as required.
