The Impact of a Sr. Technical Program Manager at Coupa:

This role is responsible for ensuring that Product and Engineering teams consistently operate within the frameworks, standards, and practices that represent the Product and Technical Ops Operating Model and define how Coupa builds, delivers, and learns from its products.

mechanisms that enable transparency, traceability, and alignment. Acting as a connective layer between Process & Practices, Data & Insights, Systems & Tools, and Product and Technical Ops leaders and team members, this individual will measure adherence, identify friction points, and drive continuous improvement through operational governance.

What You'll Do:

    • Tools and Analytics Dashboards Support and Enhancement: Leverage your technical acumen (ideally including JavaScript, Google Apps Script) to support, maintain, and contribute to the enhancement of internally developed tools and dashboards used for program and release management. Build Analytical reports using standard visualization tools like Looker, Sigma, etc.
    • Exceptional Proficiency in Google Sheets and Jira for Program Management: Demonstrate a very strong working knowledge of Google Sheets, utilizing advanced formulas, data manipulation, pivot tables, charting, and ideally Google Apps Script for automation and custom solutions. Possess a deep understanding of Jira for issue tracking, project planning, and the ability to effectively integrate Google Sheets with Jira data for insightful reporting and analysis.
    • Release Management Expertise: Lead and manage the end-to-end release lifecycle for our software products, including meticulous planning, cross-functional coordination, proactive risk management, transparent communication, comprehensive tracking and reporting of release progress, and ensuring formal sign-off at key milestones.
    • PMO Practice Implementation and Enforcement: Drive the adoption and consistent application of PMO methodologies, standards, and best practices across Product and Engineering teams. This includes defining processes, creating templates, providing training, and ensuring adherence.
    • Process Governance and Compliance: Establish and maintain governance models for Product and Engineering processes across discovery, delivery, and adoption phases.Ensure governance mechanisms are automated, auditable, and visible through Jira, Confluence, and BI dashboards.
    • AI Awareness and Insights: Bring a strong understanding of how Artificial Intelligence is shaping the software development landscape and proactively identify opportunities to leverage AI-driven tools and methodologies within program management.
    • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within Product and Technology Operations and drive initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

What You Will Bring to Coupa:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
    • Proven experience with about 8+years as a Technical Program Manager and overall 12+ years in a software development environment.
    • Mandatory hands-on coding skills in JavaScript, Google Apps Script, or other relevant scripting languages.
    • Desired to have hands-on experience on ReactJS and NodeJS. Also good to have working experience on workflow automation tools like n8n.
    • Solid understanding of software development lifecycles (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across teams.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach.
