Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager or Senior Manager to lead and grow a high-performing engineering team within a product-driven environment. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the development, delivery, and support of scalable, robust, and high-quality software products. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Python, Java, React, AWS, and API design, with a proven ability to inspire and manage engineers to deliver exceptional results.

In this role you will...

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead a team of software engineers, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and career development.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

Technical Oversight

  • Drive the architecture and development of robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions using Python, Java, React, AWS, and RESTful APIs.
  • Conduct design and code reviews to ensure high standards of quality and maintainability.

Product Delivery

  • Collaborate with Product Managers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to define product roadmaps and technical requirements.
  • Oversee sprint planning, resource allocation, and project execution to meet deadlines and deliverables.

Operational Excellence

  • Implement best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure management to ensure high system availability and performance.
  • Monitor and optimize application performance, scalability, and security.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a liaison between the engineering team and business stakeholders, translating business needs into technical solutions.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience with Python, Java, and React, building scalable, production-grade applications.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs, GraphQL and microservices architecture that enable modular, reusable, and maintainable solutions.
  • Experience in end-to-end product development - from requirement analysis, system design, coding, testing, and deployment to post-release support and iteration.
  • Expertise in cloud-native development using AWS services (e.g., EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda), with an ability to design secure, cost-effective, and high-performing solutions.
  • Practical knowledge of database design (SQL and NoSQL), caching strategies, and performance optimization for large-scale applications.
  • Strong understanding of front-end and back-end integration, ensuring seamless user experiences and reliable system performance.
  • Exposure to modern development practices such as TDD/BDD, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure as code.
  • Ability to make architecture trade-offs balancing scalability, performance, security, and time-to-market.
  • Deep appreciation of product thinking - ensuring that technical decisions directly align with customer value, usability, and long-term product vision.
