We need a senior-level developer who can do more than write clean code; someone who shapes how software gets built across the organization. The Senior Systems Developer operates with wide autonomy, leads full-lifecycle development on complex features, and serves as the technical authority on architecture, integration, and security for systems that support pediatric care around the clock.
If you've spent years working at the intersection of healthcare IT and enterprise platform development - and you're ready to mentor others, drive standards, and leave a system better than you found it - this role is built for you.
What You'll Do
Technical Solution Development: Lead full-lifecycle development of complex features using advanced OOP and design patterns. Build software that operates across cloud-based applications, low-level systems, and everything in between. Establish engineering standards, conduct rigorous peer code reviews, and mentor junior developers to keep codebases scalable and maintainable.

System Architecture & Integration: Architect system specifications and data models. Manage integrations between internal applications and EMR platforms (Epic, Cerner) using HL7 and FHIR standards. Identify performance bottlenecks in distributed production deployments and execute improvements that increase scalability and reliability.
Data Security & Compliance: Serve as the subject matter expert for HIPAA and PHI safeguarding protocols. Implement advanced encryption, identity management, and ACL controls to protect sensitive pediatric patient data. Conduct regular security audits and ensure continuous regulatory compliance across all environments.
System Design & Performance Analysis: Build sophisticated application hierarchies and data models that support a resilient 24/7 clinical environment. Conduct feasibility studies and requirements gathering to synchronize disparate healthcare systems without sacrificing data fidelity or clinical workflow continuity.
Cross-Functional & SDLC Governance: Translate high-level healthcare challenges into actionable technical roadmaps in partnership with clinical leadership and external vendors.
• wn the health of the SDLC by leading Agile ceremonies and driving CI/CD pipeline improvements. Maintain thorough documentation for long-term maintainability.
Development Lifecycle Leadership: Lead code reviews, oversee testing across unit, integration, and UAT phases, and set the release quality bar. You're not just shipping features - you're accountable for what gets to production and how it gets there.
Preferred Certifications
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
What We're Looking For

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- In lieu of degree: 10 years of experience plus a high school diploma.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in at least two primary programming languages (C#, SQL, Java, Swift, Kotlin, or equivalent)
- Experience integrating with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner) using HL7 or FHIR - strongly preferred
- Hands-on expertise in platform security: ACLs, encryption, identity management, HIPAA compliance
- Demonstrated ability to architect systems and lead technical decision-making, not just execute tickets
- Strong communicator who can partner with clinical leadership, vendors, and non-technical stakeholders
