Position Summary
We are seeking a highly knowledgeable Subject Matter Expert (SME) Packaging Line Control to lead technical support, operational excellence, and equipment optimization for packaging lines. This expert will serve as a key technical advisor expert in the design, optimization to achieve the right control of bottle, can and keg packaging lines.
This role ensures that all packaging lines run efficiently (world class manufacturing OEEs), safely, and at the highest quality standards specified.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary engineering expert for the design, configuration, and control of packaging lines (bottle, can and keg) in all Breweries (Nava, Obregón and Veracruz).
- Execute Line Balance Optimization analyzing the V-Curve and assuring the line is running good in different operation modes.
- Team with brewery operations to optimize the conveyors (mass and single line) speeds and mechanical conditions to optimize efficiency across the line reducing downtime (improving MTTR/MTBF and OEE).
- Provide hands-on support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for line control issues (including control and mechanical conveying/accumulation/diverters issues and speed control among main machines).
- Team with brewery operations to develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs tailored to conveying systems (belts, motors, drivers, bearings, etc.)
- Lead the specification, installation, and commissioning of new equipment.
- Train operations and maintenance staff on conveying operation, cleaning, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, food/beverage quality regulations, and internal SOPs.
- Work cross-functionally with quality assurance, engineering, and production teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate performance data and team with brewery operations to implement process improvements to maximize output and minimize waste.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices
- Support new product development by providing technical input
- Support financial project development and project planning by offering technical insights and feasibility assessments.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
- Engage in client meetings, site visits, and inspections as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Packaging Technology, or a related field (or equivalent technical experience).
- 12-15 years of hands-on experience working with fillers, crowners, and seamers in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
- In-depth understanding of equipment from leading manufacturers (e.g., KHS, Krones, Comac, Sidel, etc.).
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity and programming with PLC-based control systems (Siemens, B&R) and automation.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and training abilities.
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence.
- Experience in beverage, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
- Certification in maintenance or reliability (e.g., CMRP) is an asset.
- Experience with OEE tracking and performance analytics tools.
- Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices.
- May require lifting of materials and exposure to heat, humidity, and noise.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work cross-functionally.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Willing to travel for extended periods of time
- Passport and ability to travel throughout the US and Mexico is required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desired
- Periodic work on the production floor; may involve working in cold, wet, or noisy conditions.
- Requires travel to Breweries and/or vendor sites.
- Use of PPE and adherence to strict hygiene and safety protocols required.

The salary range for this role is:
$121,600.00 - $194,200.00
This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Our compensation is based on cost of labor. For remote locations or positions open to multiple locations, the pay range may reflect several US geographic markets, including the lowest geographic market minimum to the highest geographic market maximum. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
