Global Capital Markets ("GCM") are a group of highly regarded and experienced financial services specialists, operating across multiple Computershare regions to enable major corporates, financial institutions and investors to access international capital markets. Our group supports new and existing internationally listed clients to execute complex cross-border corporate transactions (such listings on multiple stock exchanges, M&A, restructuring and unique settlement transactions); responds to major market structure and regulatory changes globally, that impact our businesses, clients and their shareholders; as well as developing Computershare's global new business solutions.
GCM are looking for a motivated Senior Business Analyst, who wants to take the next steps in expanding their knowledge of capital markets, to join our team in developing and implementing strategies to respond to a wave of change in capital markets globally, helping to reduce market inefficiencies, leverage the benefits of new technologies to grow our business and support clients and shareholders, and respond to market structure and regulatory changes.
A role you will love
Working across GCM's Regulatory & Market Initiatives (RMI) and New Business (NB) teams, the Senior Business Analyst will work with GCM senior management to a) analyze major market and regulatory developments, to assess impact on Computershare's business structure, operations and strategy and on our clients; and b) identify potential for and develop new business solutions.
The person will identify opportunities/threats arising from various market initiatives and provide advice and input into the development and delivery of response strategies, a) to influence market/regulatory outcomes; and b) identify opportunities for new business developments for Computershare.
- Partner with our business groups to identify and analyze proposed or ongoing market structure and regulatory developments across Computershare's markets
- Identify areas of interest to Computershare, in terms of strategic impact on our role in markets and impact on our clients, the legal/regulatory implications of proposals and understanding the business operational impact of proposals.
- Assist and advise our businesses to ensure that our position is protected/enhanced regarding potential major structural change, new technology developments (e.g. corporate actions) and major standardization (STP, standardization of corporate actions and moves to reduce settlement times).
- Provide input into and guide the development of response strategies and/or proactive approaches as appropriate.
- Ensure relevant business stakeholders are adequately informed through regular communications and interactive discussions.
- Conduct geographic market product and competitor research, as needed, to assist the group develop strategy.
- Product/Service development - implement and assist driving the strategic direction for new products and services.
- Ability to develop commercial solutions to improve Computershare's Positioning in its core markets and new business opportunities (including new products and services, new businesses and/or the commercialization of solutions arising from market structure changes (e.g. Tokenization)

What will you bring to the role?
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:
- Degree level education (or equivalent) and 8+ years issuer services/related industry background required.
- Good understanding of capital markets and the roles of key stakeholders in it, such as exchanges, CSDs, banks/brokers, proxy service providers, transfer agents/registrars. Ability to understand new technologies influencing markets (e.g. DLT).
- Strong understanding of at least one core market where Computershare operates.
- Understanding of core concepts of securities ownership (including registered and beneficial owners) and securities registration/administration.
- Strong analytical experience, ability to review complex material and identify key issues for Computershare. Ability to tackle problems and take independent action, act on opportunities and generate new ideas
- Strategy, policy or senior operations background preferred.
- Ability to understand operational, market structure and legal/regulatory concepts and requirements, and contextualize the strategic impact on Computershare business model and role in capital markets.
- Strong oral and written communications - ability to present complex issues internally and externally; negotiate and liaise comfortably with peers and senior management; represent Computershare externally, including negotiating preferred outcomes in developments
- High level ability to read and digest complex material, including regulatory provisions and some technical aspects, and assess business impact.

Compensation. The typical base pay range for this role is $105,000 - $150,000/yearly. This base pay range is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations.
