Location: New York (Home Based), Hybrid

In this position, you'll be based in the New York office for a minimum of three days a week, with the flexibility to work from home for some of your working week.

To lead and manage the regional Facilities team across North America being accountable for strategic corporate real estate portfolio management, property asset management, CAPEX and OPEX budget management, key senior stakeholder management, operational facilities management including legislative compliance, manage third-party providers such as landlords, contractors, and consultants, and Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) providers.

Some of the key responsibilities would include

  • Develop and manage a right-sized regional corporate real estate portfolio, aligned to short-, medium-, and long-term business needs and global design standards.
  • Oversee regional CAPEX and OPEX budgets, ensuring spend remains within approved global parameters.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, anticipating and interpreting business requirements.
  • Identify and manage lease transactions, major workplace projects, asset repairs, and upgrades, including development and approval of robust business cases.
  • Ensure business cases are well-articulated, data-driven, aligned with global facilities strategy and budgets, and have full stakeholder buy-in.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date portfolio data (leases, utilisation, capacity, ESG metrics, key milestones) to support the Facilities COE and strategic decision-making.
  • Create and maintain functional, flexible, and collaborative workplaces that support evolving business needs.
  • Proactively manage lease expiries, options, and landlord relationships, with a minimum two-year forward action plan informed by market insights.
  • Lead, develop, and performance-manage the regional facilities team and delivery partners.
  • Define and implement a cost-effective facilities resourcing strategy, combining in-house teams and external IFM providers.
  • Ensure legislative compliance, health & safety adherence, and robust asset and infrastructure management.
  • Drive ESG and sustainability goals related to facilities operations and ensure accurate global reporting.
  • Collaborate with Global Facilities SMEs to support global initiatives and standardisation.
  • Maintain accountability for vendor performance, contract management, business continuity planning, and incident management.

  • Clear and well-reasoned business cases consistent with budget and strategic direction.
  • All projects and works delivered to budget and timelines.
  • Facilities operational budget in place and met.
  • Effective facilities services delivered and measured.
  • Contracts in place and performance managed.
  • Compliance to building codes and health and safety regulations.
  • Compliance with ESG goals.
  • Building risks and issues identified, managed, and resolved adhering to risk policy.
  • Feedback from staff and employee forums. Evidence of improvement plans implemented.
  • Feedback from key stakeholders.
  • Evidence of best value through regular monitoring and reviewing all areas of spend.
  • Global design standards maintained
  • Business services standards maintained

What will you bring to the role

  • Extensive expertise in leading and managing large-scale corporate real estate and facilities functions, delivering the full breadth of facilities services across multi-site, regional portfolios.
  • Strong strategic capability, with proven experience operating at an enterprise level to align real estate and facilities strategy with broader business objectives.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing professional teams and external service partners.
  • Outstanding organisational and communication skills, enabling effective engagement across all levels of the organisation, including senior executives and key stakeholders.
  • In-depth understanding of the legal, commercial, and financial aspects of complex property transactions, lease negotiations, and major capital projects.
  • Robust financial acumen, including experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial control, and cost optimisation for CAPEX and OPEX portfolios.
  • Ability to influence and communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders, supporting informed decision-making and ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, with relevant professional experience supporting senior-level accountability.

Regulatory Responsibilities (PRA/FCA)

  • The role is required to operate in a manner that supports compliance with all applicable PRA and FCA regulatory expectations, including effective governance, risk management, and operational resilience where facilities and property decisions may impact the firm's regulatory obligations.
  • Responsibilities include ensuring that facilities operations, third-party suppliers, and business continuity arrangements do not pose undue operational, financial, or reputational risk to the firm or its customers.
  • The role must demonstrate strong controls, documentation, and oversight aligned with internal policies, risk frameworks, and regulatory standards.

Senior Management Function (SMF) Consideration

  • This role may perform a Senior Management Function (SMF) or contribute materially to areas that could present a risk of significant harm to the organisation if not properly managed.
  • The position involves managing and influencing key aspects of the firm's affairs, including strategic real estate decisions, financial commitments, operational resilience, and third-party risk.
  • "Managing" in this context may include taking decisions, ownership of outcomes, or participating in decision-making that materially affects how the firm's operations are run and how risks are mitigated.
