The Global Chief Technology Officer (CTO) group is responsible for planning, designing, building and running technology services. The CTO teams span architecture, infrastructure, service operations, compliance, and technical support. We ensure that colleagues around the world have access to the technology and agreed service levels that they need to take care of their clients and their clients' shareholders, employees and customers.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen, and we are looking for a Platform Engineer to join our CTO group. The Platform Engineer plays a critical role within Technology Operations, ensuring seamless operation, deployment, and continuous improvement of both on-premises and cloud platforms.
By collaborating with development, operations, and security teams, the engineer drives automation, standardization, and innovation across our technology stack. This role is central to maintaining high service availability, supporting internal projects, and delivering robust, scalable solutions that align with business objectives and customer needs. Platform Engineer is empowered to identify and implement process improvements, contribute to strategic initiatives, and advance their technical expertise through ongoing learning and certification opportunities. This role leverages modern cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and ITIL-based service management practices.
A role you will love
A Platform Engineer is responsible for managing and deploying Computershare's software across our Production and Test environments. You will be responsible for both on-premises Windows and Linux platforms, Citrix NetScaler load-balancers, as well as a growing Azure cloud estate.
This role will be responsible for managing Computershare's build and deployment platforms and utilizing them to drive towards continuous delivery. The team is also expected to contribute to Computershare's technology stack by enhancing existing processes, identifying opportunities for automation and process optimization, and driving innovation in platform management.

Platform Engineer will constantly look to standardize key processes and make good use of scripting languages. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our technology platforms, directly impacting service quality for internal and external customers.
This role requires close collaboration with development, operations, and security teams to deliver integrated solutions. Acting as consultant, Platform Engineer is expected to assist other technology teams to configure environments and ensure the delivery of robust applications and services.
Some other key accountabilities will include:
• Deliver our 'day to day' IT services consistently, reliably, and, where opportunity presents, beyond expectation
• Maintain relevant services to agreed levels of availability and performance
• Create and maintain accurate system documentation, including change requests, technical and user guides, hardware and software asset and configuration registers, problem and resolution knowledge bases, and documentation produced during the system life cycle
• Perform innovative, efficient, and effective delivery of on-prem, Private and Hybrid Cloud-related services to our internal and external customers
• Assist with projects from time to time, with an agreed scope and effort, as deemed appropriate by your manager
• Participate in IT Service Management processes (ITIL)
• Involvement in Critical Incident and Problem Management processes as required
• Input into Management reports, including availability and capacity, and ad-hoc as necessary
• Share knowledge and feedback within Early Lifecycle Engagement processes
• Assist occasionally with duties or tasks to support the wider technology teams on critical business priorities
What will you bring to the role?
To be successful in this role, you must have a strong understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud technologies including IaaS/PaaS/SaaS. Demonstrated excellent planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and team-oriented. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in both English and Mandarin.
Some other key skills required for the role:
• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• At least 5 years of related work experience in technology in a global organization, particularly Financial Services, is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of Azure PaaS services, networking and ExpressRoute connectivity.
• Working knowledge of GIT, Repos & Pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub); Azure cost management and right-sizing; SCCM & SCOM; Azure Update Management, SolarWinds, Rubrik.
• Experience of managing an Azure landing zone environment, inc. Azure Policy. Configuring and monitoring backups in Azure.
• Experience of Azure AD authentication and identity services (AD Connect, conditional access, PIM)
• Azure AZ-900 & AZ-104 certifications.
• Experience within cross-functional projects or teams.
• Proven problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English, and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization including executive leadership, managers, peers and staff, and business contacts.
