Location: Bristol (Hybrid)
12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Our UK Payroll team is part of the Global People Team and operates within a shared service environment delivering a range of related systems and services.
Payroll is a business-critical operation and requires working at pace, subject matter competence, operational compliance, and customer service to fulfil its obligations. It touches on every aspect of the business in terms of paying people and time challenges are faced every pay cycle and annual basis.
A role you will love
The UK Payroll Specialist is a role responsible for providing consistent payroll service and support for the inhouse payrolls in the UK.
This role will ensure the accurate and timely preparation and processing of the company's monthly payrolls and support enquiries from employees and line managers. This individual will act as the first point of escalation from the Payroll Administrators and will be a trusted support to the UK Payroll Manager.
Some key responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and reconcile the in-house payroll processing according to the monthly timetable.
- Reconcile and arrange for any third-party payments and maintain good business relationships with our payroll provider.
- Comply with agreed processes and identifies any process improvements
- Prepare and deliver monthly post-commit reports and KPIs and contribute to the attainment of team KPIs and SLA measures.
- Maintains current knowledge of local legislation affecting payroll whilst delivering excellent day-to-day employee experience for employes globally.
- Effectively manage business enquiries and escalate payroll issues and promotes the use of self service to employee and line managers.
- Performs related duties as assigned and completes any other tasks necessary for administering a company's payroll process.
- Save and maintain all monthly payroll documents in line with CPU Standards.
- Supporting audits, projects and data requests
- Observe etiquette and deliver an excellent standard of customer service
- Work closely with the accounting team to update and maintain accurate cost centres and GL codes.

What will you bring to the role?
This post will require someone with a strong background from a high volume, in-house payroll function and a good understanding of regional guidelines and legislature. The ability to adapt to complex business systems will be required as will a knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Other key skills required for the role include:
- Working knowledge of payroll across the UK including statutory requirements such as year-end reporting.
- Experience with additional countries in EMEA regions is not essential but would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of payroll and people systems. (ADP and Oracle Fusion experience is not essential but would be beneficial)
- Experience in working with third party payroll vendors
- Accuracy and attention to detail as you will be responsible for the preparation of multiple payrolls across the UK.
- A responsible team player who can communicate and integrate with other teams within the Shared Services function.
- Able to find timely resolutions to complex issues and support line managers with queries from the business.
