We are currently recruiting for a manager to join the HK KYC team. This role will assist the different business lines in our Hong Kong office - Share Registry, Employee Share Plans, Corporate Governance etc. to conduct and maintain a KYC profile for each of our clients (over 1,000 clients), in accordance with a number of regulations and guidelines issued by the Securities & Futures Commission (SFC) and Company Registries (CR).

The KYC Manager should possess a strong background in KYC, Client Onboarding, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML). The job holder is expected to independently handle and review KYC documentation, conduct name screening, and complete assigned requests or tasks within agreed timelines. The job holder should proactively manage priorities, allocate resources effectively, and take appropriate actions to ensure deadlines and service level commitments are met.

The KYC Manager will work closely with various business units to ensure that customer KYC information is accurately collected, verified, and maintained. In addition, the job holder is expected to exercise sound judgment and collaborate effectively with stakeholders and the Risk and Compliance team to resolve issues in an efficient, professional, and timely manner.

Some other key accountabilities will include:

  • Review the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of KYC documentation and client risk assessments to ensure adherence to Group Policies and Procedures, team procedures, and regulatory requirements. Complete reviews within agreed service standards and due dates
  • Exercise sound judgment and collaborate effectively with stakeholders and the Risk and Compliance team to identify issues, provide practical and constructive solutions, and resolve matters in an efficient, professional, and timely manner
  • Perform name screening on clients and relevant parties within agreed timelines and applicable SLA requirements
  • Ensure all required approvals are obtained in accordance with Group Policies and Procedures
  • Handle and resolve ongoing name screening alerts in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with agreed due dates and quality standards
  • Serve as a key point of contact for KYC documentation and liaise with relevant stakeholders when required. Provide constructive advice and practical solutions to stakeholders regarding enquiries related to KYC documentation, client profile updates, and KYC processes
  • Initiate and support discussions within the team and with relevant stakeholders to identify issues and process improvement opportunities, develop practical and constructive recommendations, and drive the implementation of effective solutions
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships within the team and with stakeholders, promoting collaboration, mutual respect, and effective teamwork
  • Provide regular updates to the Team Head and relevant stakeholders, including Business Units and Risk & Compliance
  • Perform other ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Team Head and/or Division Head, taking a proactive approach to identifying, supporting, and driving initiatives as required, while maintaining a professional, collaborative, and respectful attitude when working with team members and stakeholders
  • Analyze support enquiries to identify recurring user problems, recommend solutions and identify areas where support services can be improved
  • Suggest ways to improve existing processes and/or create additional ones to improve quality and efficiency

What will you bring to the role?

  • 5-8 years of experience in KYC/ Client Onboarding/ AML roles
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred
  • Sound knowledge of KYC requirement and regulations, such as SFC, TCSP
  • Proactive to work, willing to take initiatives and follow through with delivery with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to analyze requirements, risks and issues and can prioritize requirements based on priority and benefits with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Resilient and strong ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good fluency in Cantonese and English
