Finance Data Management Lead

Location: Bristol, Edinburgh, London (Hybrid)

Within Computershare, Finance is responsible for providing transactional accounting services and support, treasury, financial planning, analysis, reporting, commercial finance and financial systems & change support to all business units and functions throughout Computershare, across all global locations.

The role of the Data Management Lead will be to build and manage an enterprise-wide data governance program for Finance-centric data, to ensure that data across all systems is accurate, consistent, secure, and aligned with business priorities. This role will act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders to define critical data elements, establish quality standards, and drive a data-driven culture.

The Data Management Lead is a senior-level position responsible for spearheading the Finance organization's data governance initiatives, ensuring the integrity, quality, security, and compliance of data assets. This role involves developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to support strategic business objectives.

The role will work collaboratively across other global teams, supporting business-as-usual upgrades, continuous improvement, and project-related activity.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Strategy & Governance
  • Define and implement the Finance data management and governance strategy.
  • Establish governance structures, roles, and standards for data stewardship.
  • Create and maintain data governance policies and procedures.
  • Data Quality & Metadata
  • Set data quality standards and oversee monitoring and issue resolution.
  • Manage metadata, including business glossaries, data dictionaries, and data catalogues.
  • Partner with data owners to certify critical data elements.
  • Data Security & Compliance
  • Enforce data classification, access, and usage policies to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Manage data risks, support audits, and oversee data lifecycle management.
  • Leadership & Collaboration
  • Lead the Data Governance, collaborate with IT, Legal, Risk, and Business teams to align data initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Promote data literacy through training and awareness initiatives.

What will you bring to the role?

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 5-8 years of experience in data governance, data quality, or enterprise data management.
  • Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or similar, experience with Oracle Data Management / Oracle IT Architecture or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience working with large ERP systems and enterprise data platforms (Oracle, SAP, Teradata, AWS), including system integration concepts.
  • Project management certifications (PMP, Agile, Prince2) are a plus.
  • Strong consulting skills, especially in change management, communication, and KPI design.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing and developing functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels internally and externally.
