Location: Bristol or Edinburgh (Hybrid)

We are excited to offer a fixed term contract until the end of 2026 to join Computershare as an Employee Relations Manager within our global People function.

A role you will love
As the Employee Relations Manager, within UCI, you will take the lead on maintaining and implementing local Policy development in line with strategic goals, and local legislation. You will undertake regular horizon scanning to ensure we are abreast of future changes impacting policies as well as understanding market best practice. You will also be responsible for developing manager toolkits, templates and training for the UCI region, with the opportunity to lead on some global policy and manager guide initiatives.
In addition, you may also have the opportunity to support local business change projects (i.e restructures) and have exposure to more global change activity. .
Key responsibilities
- Own local UCI policies, provide advice and input to wider People policies to ensure regulatory and legal compliance.
- Provide jurisdiction specific legal & regulatory updates to global policies where local variance is required for regional compliance.
- Conduct horizon scanning on a regular basis to ensure that policies are legally compliant and make amendments as and when required.
- Ensure that policies are supported by manager guides and toolkits as well as training to ensure that managers are aware of their obligations.
- Undertake market practice reviews in relation to key policies to ensure we are competitive.
- Contribute to related People Team and business orientated projects, providing ER subject matter expertise.
- Provide coaching and technical oversight to the Employee Relations case consultants where necessary.
- Provide training to the ER Management team on new & amended policies to ensure there is alignment across the business.
- Support the ER change Management team on programmes, providing expertise and advice on the people requirements.
- Lead, support and maintain relationships with ER representatives, forums, Works Council and trade unions in respect of ongoing employment practices, people changes and communications.

What will you bring to the role?
We're looking for someone with extensive understanding of creating people policies and practices, particularly employment law and its regulatory implications within the UCI region. Passion, commitment, and a genuine desire to coach and upskill managers are essential, alongside a robust focus on delivering an exceptional level of service.
- In depth understanding of employment law, local policies and procedures.
- Ability to coach and support line managers.
- Experience of providing SME advice to ER and People colleagues within their jurisdiction.
- Experience leading ER policy change and supporting People change activity.
- Ability to build strong trusted relationships at all levels, demonstrating presence and effective influencing skills.
- Adept commercial awareness and the ability to balance risk with practical business needs.
- Relevant professional HR qualifications or significant ER case management/litigation experience.
