A role you will love
As Compliance Officer you will support the maintenance and effectiveness of the Compliance Function and help ensure the integrity of the organisation through compliance with applicable Dutch and European regulatory requirements, internal policies and regulatory expectations.
The role supports the business in embedding compliance and risk into daily operations, maintaining the SIRA, executing the CMP, overseeing financial crime controls, assisting with outsourcing oversight and preparing regulatory reporting for DNB.
As part of the role, you will also act as the designated deputy to the MLRO (Director Risk & Compliance) and assumes AML/CTF responsibilities during their absence.

A role you will love

What will you bring to the role?
Essential Experience
Demonstrable experience in Compliance, Financial Crime Prevention, Risk Management, or a related regulatory function, with a strong understanding of the evolving financial services regulatory landscape and the practical application of compliance frameworks.
Proven expertise in Dutch AML/CTF and Sanctions regulations, including the implementation and oversight of controls designed to detect, prevent, and mitigate financial crime risks.
Previous experience within a regulated financial institution, ideally within a Payment Service Provider (PSP), FinTech, Electronic Money Institution (EMI), bank, or other supervised financial services environment.
Strong working knowledge of key Dutch and European regulatory frameworks, including:
Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and enhancing compliance and financial crime programmes, including:
- Compliance monitoring and testing activities
- AML/CTF controls and governance frameworks
- Customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and transaction monitoring oversight
- Sanctions screening and sanctions compliance programmes
- Enterprise-wide and thematic risk assessments
- Regulatory reporting and regulator engagement
- Policy, procedure, and control framework development
Experience producing high-quality board, committee, and senior management reporting, with the ability to translate complex regulatory and risk matters into clear, concise, and actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge, influence, and advise senior leaders while maintaining strong relationships across the business and with external regulators where required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a pragmatic, risk-based approach to managing compliance obligations in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
Desirable
- Experience maintaining a SIRA or comparable enterprise integrity risk assessment
- Experience overseeing risks involved with outsourced operational activities
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Business, Finance, Risk Management or a related field
Qualifications
Professional compliance qualification, such as CAMS, ICA or a similar AML/compliance certification
