Job Summary
The Project Manager, Facility Management is responsible forleading and managing small to medium scale projects for facilities across CN'snetwork in Canada and the US. The incumbent prepares project plans andassociate communication documents, in addition to executing projects frominception to completion. Moreover, the position ensures the proper completionof projects in accordance with CN's established standards, schedules, andbudget parameters. The role requires collaborating with various internalstakeholders across various CN Business Units, as well as externalprofessionals, vendors, and contractors for project resources.
Main Responsibilities

Project Management
• Meet withstakeholders to understand the scope of projects for facilities, as well asimpact on CN's network for small to medium scale projects
• Manage andcoordinate the process of planning, design development, and liaise withconsultants, professionals, general contractors and suppliers
• Ensure thatproject documentation throughout all project phases is consistent with projectscope, budget and project schedules
• Execute allproject steps for budget management and record keeping (minutes), projectcontract management, project schedule, and construction compliance withapplicable building codes
• Communicate withappropriate CN stakeholders for project status reports, change orders, budgetparameters, and milestones
Contract Management
• Prepare requestsfor proposals and conduct all necessary meetings to facilitate hiringprofessionals and required services
• Review contractplans and specifications for compliance with appropriate building codes andproject requirements
• Participate inpre-bid, pre-construction, project design, and construction meetings
Monitor and Quality Control Management

• Monitor projectexpenditures, review payment of invoices, and ensure adherence to contracts
• Ensure that workis carried out according to building code specifications and CN's requirements
• Prepare projectstatus reports, evaluate performance of professionals, general contractors andconstruction managers through periodic inspections and direct daily supervision

Requirements

Experience

Project Management
• Minimum 3 years
• Industrial orcommercial projects
• Railwayexperience

Education/Certification/Designation

• Bachelor's Degreein Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering
• ProjectManagement Institute - Project Management Professional (PMI-PMP) Certification
Any certification for these above would be considered as anasset

• Knowledge ofconstruction methodology, technology, and costs
• Knowledge ofMicrosoft Office software applicable to the area of responsibility,spreadsheets and MS Project
• Fluentlybilingual both written and verbal (English, French)
