Intern, Public Affairs & Media Relations
This is a full-time summer internship lasting from May 11,2026, until August 28, 2026.
Job Summary

The Intern, Public Affairs and Media Relations works closely with the public affairs and media relations team to support the organization's public relations activities.
This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in public affairs and media relations within a dynamic organization.

Major Responsibilities

  • Monitor traditional media, social media, and other platforms to identify trends, relevant articles and mentions of the organization as well as compile and analyze media monitoring reports
  • Participate in the writing, editing and distribution of press releases and briefings to promote the organization's initiatives
  • Contribute to the management of the organization's social media accounts, creating and scheduling engaging content, monitoring comments, and ensuring a positive online presence
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of public events, such as press conferences, product launches, forums, and public relations activities
  • Conduct research on industry trends, public policy, and related issues as well as contribute to media environment and stakeholder analyses
  • Track and database management of relationships with the media, including journalists, bloggers and influencers as well as help facilitate interview and feature requests
  • Participate in lobbying activities by providing administrative support, preparing briefing documents and helping to coordinate meetings with decision-makers
  • Monitor relevant legislative and regulatory developments and help inform the public affairs team on potential implications

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (bilingualism is an asset)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of traditional and social media
  • Interest in public affairs and media relations issues
  • Proficiency in office automation tools and social media platforms

Education

  • Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Political Science, Public Affairs, International Relations, or related field.
