Intern, Market Analyst (Petroleum & Chemicals)
This is a full-time summer internship lasting from May 11,2026, until August 28, 2026
Job Summary

The Intern, Petroleum and Chemical Market Analyst isresponsible for assisting the Sales and Marketing team by gaining anunderstanding of customer needs through market research, traffic flow andcorridor analysis. The position assists with process mapping of key workflowsfor sales and marketing activities to help establish future productivityimprovements. The incumbent supports a team whose goal is to grow CN's marketshare, deepen CN's strategic position, in addition to growing CN's contributionby expanding market share to generate revenue and volume growth.

Major Responsibilities

  • Acquire a deep understanding of CN's rail operations and find ways to leverage the network for new business opportunities
  • Review the nature and scope of segment and customer requirements
  • Assess market and modal competition, as well as service requirements
  • Undertake research related to corridor pricing structure and modal competition
  • Analyze large quantities of data and display in graphical formats
  • Find opportunities to implement Power BI to automate
  • Work closely with other members of the team to assess opportunities

Requirements

  • Initiative, sound judgment and a willingness to accept responsibility with a minimum of direction
  • Applies critical thinking
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including databases, Power BI and Tableau
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and handle workload efficiently

Education

  • Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or equivalent
