Principal Supply Chain Lead
Overview
As the primary Supply Chain relationship with Operators, the Principal Supply Chain Lead provides immersive support and 24/7 accessibility, including holidays, to meet the unique Supply Chain needs of Restaurant Operators. This role serves as a senior individual contributor (non-people leader) that supports 200-300 Restaurants.
This role is entrusted with connecting Operators, Consultants, and key stakeholders across Supply Chain and the organization to create Restaurant solutions. This role provides counsel and solutions to urgent and strategic supply chain issues and opportunities to ensure the health of the supply chain to Operators and also the broader business.
This role builds supporting relationships with Operators by partnering with Field Operations, Field Consulting Teams, other Services Teams, and strategic business partners both internally and externally across Supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Understand end-to-end Supply Chain strategies (distribution, chicken, bread, produce, packaging, inventory, quality and supplier safety, costs, and communication) and represent these strategies across markets and across the business
- Serve as a trusted expert in optimizing Restaurant Order Management leveraging tools like Signal to ensure Operators have the right product at the right place at the right time
- Help Operators evaluate quality and inventory specs to determine appropriate credit process. Provide linkage from Supplier Performance to Restaurant product quality
- Provide Supply Chain focused support to Operators and Restaurant Teams including time with Operators in Restaurants and Market Meetings listening, presenting, solutioning and following up with timely communication and action
- Work closely with Region Lead (Sr. Supply Chain Lead) to serve as key Supply Chain contact in crisis events such as hurricanes or large-scale product withdrawal/recovery efforts
- Partner with Corporate Communication to provide Operator perspective on all field-facing communication from Supply Chain to Operators and Restaurants
- Build trusted relationships across our Supply Chain, with Operators, Corporate Communication, Area Support Team Leads and other field facing Teams to ensure the highest quality experience for each Restaurant, serving as a trusted advocate for Operators to ensure their Supply Chain needs are met
- Work with a wide latitude of interdependency to make recommendations and decisions, connecting Operators to Supply Chain solutions
- Understand our Restaurants and Operator business model in support of a healthy ecosystem across the businesses of Operators and the business of Chick-fil-A
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
- Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired
- 4+ years of relevant experience
- Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively to positively influence Operators, Supplier and Distribution Partners, and across Supply Chain
- Demonstrate strong emotional intelligence
- Possess a high level of resiliency
- Ability to balance multiple and sometimes conflicting stakeholder interests
- Proficient in facilitation, written and presentation skills
- Effectively communicate in high-pressure situations
