Overview
The Instructional Technologist is responsible for leveraging their deep understanding of practitioner and user capabilities of our learning platforms, along with instructional design and adult learning expertise, to create effective, engaging, and accessible learning experiences. They work collaboratively with business SMEs, Learning Strategists, Learning Partners, and internal Learning & Development Staff to design and implement instructional strategies and learning tools that support diverse learner needs. This role blends expertise in adult learning principles with technical proficiency on features and functionality to enhance the quality of learning for the audience.

Responsibilities
Instructional Technology
- Supports the selection and co - use of appropriate learning tools and platforms, such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), Learning Experience Platform (LXP), authoring tools, and virtual classroom platforms.
- Supports and translates Digital Learning's ecosystem and technical roadmap on behalf of the audience.
- Partners with Digital Learning to surface unique audience insights to inform direction and future enhancements.
- Understands UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience) design principles to ensure a streamlined learning process, ensuring learners can easily navigate content, enhancing engagement and reducing frustration.
- Collaborates with Digital Learning, Learning Strategists, Learning Partners, and Learning Design to design, develop and deliver engaging technology - enhanced learning experiences.
- Provides guidance, training, and problem solving support for learning platforms and tools on behalf of the audience.
- Stays current with emerging learning products and e-learning and instructional technology trends to recommend and integrate innovative solutions.
- Collaborates with Learning Strategists, Learning Partners, Learning Designers, SMEs, and internal Learning & Development Staff to design, organize, and tag content.
- Collects, analyzes and interprets data insights on the effectiveness of instructional strategies and technology solutions to improve learning outcomes.
Learning Design
- Analyze s learning needs and define course objectives aligned with business goals.
- Designs, develops, and maintains various instructional materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training (ILT), and blended learning solutions that align with learning objectives.
- Applies instructional design theories and models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to create effective and engaging learning experiences.
- Develop learning content and experiences tailored to target audiences, applying instructional and experience design principles
- Collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
- Maintains and update s content and courses on behalf of the team, ensuring materials remain current and aligned with organizational needs.
- Ensures learning solution designs, content, and resources align with content strategy and design standards.
- Utilizes data-driven approaches to assess the effectiveness of learning experiences and make recommendations for improvements.
Project Management
- Manages multiple instructional technology projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
- Coordinates with cross-functional teams to align learning solutions with organizational needs.
- Prepares and maintains documentation related to instructional design processes, platform/tool capabilities, and project progress
- Conducts usability testing and gathers feedback to refine and enhance learning materials and platform/tool solutions.
- Monitors and evaluates learner performance and engagement, making data-driven adjustments as needed
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
- Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and LMS platforms (e.g., LearnUpon, Workday Learn, Cornerstone, Canvas).
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning theory.
- Experience with emerging technologies and trends in the learning industry.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
- Certification in instructional design or technology (e.g., ATD, CPLP, Certified Professional in Learning and Performance).
- Advanced skills in learning experience platforms (LXP) or other next generation learning technologies.
- Experience with data analytics and reporting tools to evaluate learning outcomes.
