Schwab Advisor Services' Wealth Services organization creates digital products and features to better support advisors' expanding needs for wealth management tools. This includes banking and money movement capabilities integrated seamlessly with new capabilities on our platform.
This Digital Project/Program Management role will help manage 1-2 very large platform initiatives to deliver new money movement features. This role will pair with the Move Money product management team to orchestrate product planning across 10-15 separate system teams to ensure end-to-end client experiences are fully planned for and vetted. The role will also synchronize and track development work activities to ensure dependencies stay in lock step. As the program lead, this candidate will be equally responsible for the project's success as each of the product management teams involved and will drive key coordination ceremonies and leadership reporting.
What you'll do:
- Develop a deep understanding of the Schwab Advisor Center/Advisor Services' technology ecosystem, including current and target-state architectures
- Gather and understand key players that need to be involved in decision making as well as detailed project planning
- Stand up various collaboration sessions among teams and create documentation of key design decisions to ensure a shared project team understanding of plans
- Be the project management glue for various project coordination sessions, documenting key outcomes and follow up activities, and consistently following up for resolutions and meeting agenda preparation
- Create scrum-of-scrum ceremonies and reporting to harmonize detailed development planning and be able to proactively anticipate and address delivery issues/dependencies; create accurate program progress summaries to share with leadership in various forums; support formal PI Planning coordination across teams
- Coordinate the development of and execution of end-to-end testing plans to ensure client experiences perform seamlessly; coordinate beta testing and production release coordination across the various teams involved
What you have
Required Experience & Skills:
- 5+ years' experience with digital project management and/or scrum master experience
- Financial Services experience
- Deep understanding of agile processes; prior experience running scaled agile ceremonies including scrum-of-scrums
- Unbelievably organized and talented at keeping track of 20-50 open action items and issues at a time with prompt follow-ups; ability to be 1-2 steps ahead of the team at any given time to create meeting agendas, ensure team members are prepared with materials, and schedule time for key activities ahead of when they need to be completed
- Ability to read and quickly learn system architecture, infer action item owners based on their team's role and system responsibilities
- Adept at using multiple systems and tools for project management activities including Microsoft suite, Confluence, JIRA, and Rally
- Extremely strong communication skills - able to develop PowerPoints of project requirements, produce charts about development progress like burnups, create diagrams to clarify system roles, document testing plan scenarios in Excel, create written summaries of project progress, and manage meetings/facilitate dialog for maximum productivity, etc.
- Ability to synthesize information and type on the fly while listening to team member conversations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Rally
- Move Money / Transaction capability experience
- Experience managing testing activities
In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
