The Move Money / Charitable Operations Senior Team Manager is a people-focused leader responsible for driving a high-performing team dedicated to delivering exceptional client experiences while ensuring the accurate and timely execution of high-risk, time-sensitive money movement transactions. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding client assets, mitigating operational risk, and supporting Schwab's mission to champion every client's financial journey.
This team works closely with our Donor Advised Funds group, DAFGiving360. This role/team facilitates move money transactions and operational support for our advisors, donors, and clients. Building and enhancing a foundation between the two groups is essential for the success of this role.
This leader will foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee development while partnering cross-functionally to enhance processes, strengthen controls, and deliver operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
What You Will Do
- Lead, coach, and develop a diverse team responsible for client servicing and execution of complex money movement transactions
- Drive a strong client-first culture focused on accuracy, timeliness, and risk mitigation
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and firm policies to effectively manage operational risk
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (DAFGiving360, Risk, Compliance, Technology, and Operations) to resolve issues and improve end-to-end processes
- Monitor performance through key metrics, identifying trends and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and quality
- Create an inclusive, engaging team environment that supports employee growth, career progression, and retention
- Lead and contribute to departmental and enterprise-wide initiatives, including process improvements and change management efforts
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership, providing insights, updates, and strategic recommendations
- Balance strategic thinking with day-to-day operational execution in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
What you have
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership experience with a proven ability to motivate, develop, and retain high-performing teams
- Strong operational expertise within financial services, brokerage, or banking environments
- Ability to manage risk by applying sound judgment and adhering to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on continuous improvement
- Proven ability to lead through change in a fast-paced environment
- FINRA Series 7, 63, and 9/10 licenses (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of leadership experience in an operations or client service environment
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and initiatives
- Experience developing and delivering presentations to senior leadership
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and operational systems
