Software Engineering Leader
Pay range: USD $126,500.00 - $210,000.00 / Year

The SSMT (Sales, Service, Marketing Technology) organization is seeking a highly motivated Data Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers responsible for the extraction, ingestion, and transformation of large-scale data. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is comfortable navigating ambiguity.
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing our data engineering strategy. You will drive the delivery of mission-critical business and technology initiatives, ensuring scalable, reliable data solutions that support key organizational objectives and enable data-driven decision-making across Sales, Service, and Marketing platforms.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of software and data engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, encouraging their professional growth and development.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to move enterprise projects forward with broader organizational goals and user requirements.
- Develop, articulate, and drive a clear data engineering vision that aligns with the company's strategic objectives.
- Oversee the design and development of data pipelines, data models, and data architecture to support monitoring, analytics and reporting needs.
- Allocate resources efficiently and manage project timelines to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
- Evaluate and drive adoption of the latest trends, tools, and technologies in the data engineering field.
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of experience in data engineering and at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Deep understanding of ETL/ELT architecture, data movement strategies, and large-scale data platform design using Informatica IICS, Power Center and Spring Batch.
- Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres or MySQL.
- Strong SQL skills and data modeling expertise for enterprise-scale data platforms.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java.
- Experience implementing streaming data pipelines e.g Messaging, Pub/Sub, Kafka.
- Experience with data governance and quality management practices.
- Experience with Visualization Tools like Tableau, Power BI.
- People manager responsibilities include managing full time, contractor, offshore resources and 3rd party vendors.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Salesforce platforms from a data ingestion/extraction perspective, highly desired.
- Knowledge of financial services.
- Expertise in public cloud e.g Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Leverage AI-assisted Development Practices: Collaborate and lead AI-assisted development practices (e.g. code generation, automated testing, pipeline validation, and design acceleration) to increase engineering velocity, improve data quality and reduce time-to-production.
