In Schwab Cybersecurity Services (SCS), Office of the CISO, we protect the firm's IT assets, data, and application access so the business can deliver secure and successful outcomes for clients and shareholders. The Cybersecurity Engineering Services (CES) team plays a critical role in this mission by ensuring the right entities have the right access at the right time. As part of this effort, CES is seeking a Senior Manager of Zero Trust Operations to lead and mature the operational backbone of Schwab's Zero Trust ecosystem. This leader will guide a diverse team responsible for daily user interactions with Zero Trust platforms, including ticket management, escalations, weekly change execution, and validation of updates before enterprise release-all within a fast-moving, hands-on operational environment.

Beyond day-to-day execution, this role offers the opportunity to shape the future of Schwab's Zero Trust services. You will influence platform direction, strengthen monitoring and incident response, introduce automation, and drive data-informed improvements that reduce friction and enhance reliability. Objectives
- Lead the operational strategy and daily execution of enterprise-grade Zero Trust network and endpoint technology solutions - ensuring stable, current, and highly resilient platforms.
- Own and influence Zero Trust technology decisions and direction, balancing tradeoffs to deliver rapid, high-value security outcomes.
- Identify, prioritize, and execute improvements that enhance Zero Trust platform effectiveness, scalability, maturity, and resiliency.
- Apply broad cybersecurity expertise to shape long-term strategic plans and near-term tactical objectives using sound judgment and outcome-focused decision-
- Represent Zero Trust Operations in enterprise-level strategic discussions, advocating for holistic cybersecurity outcomes.
- Define, track, and mature KPIs that measure platform health, service quality, and operational efficiency, driving excellence in service delivery.
- Strengthen incident response, monitoring, and escalation practices to ensure swift, high-quality operational outcomes.
- Enforce rigorous user experience validation and change-quality processes, including regression testing and maturing of change-quality metrics.
- Ensure development and lifecycle management of operational documentation, runbooks, and cross-training materials.
- Own operational budgets, resource planning, and long-range roadmap development, balancing costs, staffing, and service delivery models.
- Champion AI, automation, and data-driven insights to drive efficiency gains and accelerate operational improvements.
- Model continuous learning, innovation, and cross-domain collaboration to elevate team capability and organizational maturity.
- Drive continuous improvement through structured feedback loops, quality reviews, and iterative enhancement of services and processes.
- Influence cybersecurity and business leaders as a trusted partner, providing guidance, policy/process recommendations, and cross-functional alignment.
- Support team development through career growth planning, skill gap analysis, certification paths, and fostering a culture of excellence, inclusion, and collaboration.
- Promote an autonomous team culture by leveraging intentional delegation and empowerment models that build ownership, accelerate decision-making, and strengthen individual and collective capability.
What you have
Qualifications
Knowledge & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity within complex enterprise environments.
- 2+ years of experience leading cybersecurity teams.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Zero Trust technologies (e.g. Proxy, SWG, SASE, ZTNA, CASB).
- Advanced knowledge of networking, cloud security, and modern security architecture concepts.
- Strong familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Critical Controls, and NIST 800-
- Applied understanding of relevant regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., FRB, SOX, GLBA).
- Solid understanding of product-centric financial management, including CAPEX and OPEX planning.
- Applied experience with Agile methodologies and incremental service delivery.
- Demonstrated success operating within large-scale, multi-team, and high-complexity environments.
- Proven ability to influence without authority across engineering, architecture, peer cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal judgment, innovation, and execution discipline.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.

Formal Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical field-or equivalent experience.
- Cybersecurity management certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, or CDPSE.
- Technical cybersecurity certifications such as CCSP, GSEC, GMON, GPEN, GCIH, or GCIA (or equivalent).
- Operating system certifications (e.g., MCSE or relevant Linux certifications).
- Networking certifications such as CCNA, CCDP, or equivalent.
