Data Governance Analyst
Pay range: USD $38.46 - $53.85 / Hour

The Data Governance Analyst plays a key role in strengthening enterprise data governance and data management capabilities. In this role, you'll help ensure data is accurate, trusted, secure, and usable across the organization. You'll collaborate with business and technology partners, apply strong analytical thinking, and contribute to improving how data is managed at scale. What You'll Do
- Apply data governance standards and procedures to support data quality, security, and compliance across platforms and tools.
- Provide hands-on operational support for data management and governance technologies, including issue resolution and release support.
- Partner with business and technology teams to document requirements, translate data needs, and deliver practical solutions.
- Analyze data issues, investigate root causes, and recommend improvements to data processes and controls.
- Maintain documentation, controls, and reporting to support transparency and consistency.
- Manage multiple work items, prioritize effectively, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What you have
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or related disciplines.
- Experience working with metadata management and data quality concepts and understanding their role in healthy data ecosystems.
- Working knowledge of data governance and/or data management practices.
- Experience using SQL, Python, or similar tools to support data analysis, data quality, or governance processes.
- Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, GCP BigQuery, NoSQL databases, and working with structured and unstructured data.
- Use of AI tools (e.g. Copilot) in day-to-day tasks (documentation, query support, data analysis)
- Experience using analytical, reporting, or collaboration tools such as complex spreadsheets, pivot tables, dashboards, database queries, or online collaboration platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly and effectively to partners at various levels.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across teams toward shared goals.
- Effective time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and deliver work in a fast-paced environment.
- Learning agility and adaptability, with a willingness to support evolving team and business needs.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience with a strong data orientation.
- Experience with data governance or data management tools such as Collibra, Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog, or Informatica Data Quality.
- Experience in financial services or a regulated environment.
- An explorer mindset with curiosity and initiative to learn new tools, domains, and approaches.
- Demonstrated leadership potential as an individual contributor who can influence outcomes and support team success.
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
